Bears, Moose & Mountains at Denali National Park, Alaska...
Covering more than 6 million acres of Alaskan wilderness, the park is home to the tallest peak in America, Mount Denali (Mt. McKinley). It is also home to a stunning amount of wildlife and endless picture-perfect landscapes.
Like most visitors we did an organized bus tour through the park. We spent 8 glorious hours taking in the scenery of tundra, spruce forests and glaciers, as well as a great mix of wildlife.
THE BUSES
We saw countless Caribou, a moose and a few Grizzlies including a mother with her 3 cubs. Most of the animals were a fair distance from the bus, so we were safe and we didn't bother them at all.
THE ANIMALS
Most of the day we were catching glimpses of the towering Mount Denali, rising 20,300 feet into the sky and peeking through the clouds.
MOUNT DENALI
SCENERY
For the more adventurous, you could spend days, or even weeks in the park, trekking and camping. Unfortunately we only had a day here, but it was thoroughly worth the effort.
