In Pictures - Kralingen Lake and Forrest

What to do to get away from the high rise buildings and traffic? Go find yourself a green spot of course. Every city has them and we tend to use them less than we should.

Lake and forest park Kralingse Plas’ is situated in the northern park of Rotterdam. The bos (forrest) surrounds the lake. I’m not sure if this is indeed a forest or just a park because it doesn’t look huge.

If it is a forest, then it is indeed well kept and maintained one. Sand is unusually even on the side of the lake. I imagine lots of people are having fun here during the warmer days.

In this weather, it would be best t stay indoors and watch the lake from one of the restaurants or cafes. The wind can get ice cold. Lake is pretty big, but if you really wanted to, you could walk around it in reasonable time, maybe an afternoon. I imagine the view is relaxing along the whole way.

I’m not sure how would you get there with public transport but just find or rent a bike somewhere. Cycling around it could give you the best overall experience, timewise.Bike lanes are all around, as it is usual across the city.

Of course I took a stop to try a new brew, but I’ll leave the review for another day.
