Prague/Czech Republic - Wednesday photo challenge - share your personal pictures from your visit to the Czech Republic!
WARNING: The use of images that are not your own on which you claim the ownership will be flagged - HELPING TO STOP PLAGIARISM ON STEEMIT
Hello fellow Steemians,
I hope you are all having a great day! :) As usually, I am here with my daily photo challenge where you can submit your personal images from your travels to Prague and other locations in the Czech Republic in the comment section below.
The best 15 entries of the day will get my upvote. I will then pick the absolute winner of the day from these 15 photos. The winning photo will be awarded with a bigger upvote and it will also be featured as the cover image for the challenge post the next day to give the author of the winning shot some more exposure and publicity.
Don’t forget to add a short background story for your entry with at least 30 words and let me just remind you one more time that only personal images will be accepted in the challenge.
There were many great entries submitted in the yesterday Prague/Czech Republic photo challenge and I had a hard time picking the best one. After a deliberate consideration, however, I decided to choose the following entry by @softa:
Castle Litomysl lies in the Pardubice region on the border of Bohemia and Moravia. The castle was built in Renaissance style in the 16th century. Later the interiors were rebuilt in Baroque and Classicist style. In 1999, he was enrolled in Unesco's list. Since 1949, Smetana's Litomyšl music festival has been held here every year.

I have taken this picture insight the Veitsdome during our stay at Prague. This definetly one of the the most beautiful churches i have ever seen. The chruch was built in a gothic-style area, which you could see on the construction and chossen materials in my picture...
Okay I hope this is allowed. The top picture isn't mine but it is in public domain.
Today we have something that is a little different. Here is a comparison picture of Prague.
The top picture is from a book printed in 1650. Czechia was called the "Kingdom of Bohemia" at the time. I'm not sure where the artist was sitting because Petrin wasn't there at the time but my picture is From Petrin Tower.
I think it is cool that you can see see some of the important structures that were in Old town back in 1650.
Any questions I'll answer to the best of my ability.
Now this is cool! Interesting comparison... the author of the first image might have just climbed up a tree on the top of the Petrin Hill :)
The infamous @phortun commenting and liking my post!!! (I think you are Thomas' IRL friend, I see he throws you upvotes)
I am actually interested in how he did it, I was thinking that maybe there was a tower there before Petrin was built? I have no clue, it just seems like the perspective was almost identical.
Haha not really (yet), I just help him with managing his blog a bit ;) But you are right, the perspective looks very similar. The Petrin Tower was built in 1891 and I have no clue what was there before... You just might have raised a serious historical question :D
Ah that makes sense. He is paying you well for managing it. If he needs anything else managed I have some free time lol.
I wonder if anyone knows if anything was there before hand. Could have been destroyed at some point. Had to have been if it there was something there.
Ill have to look into it tomorrow.
That is actually very cool! You get featured today:)
In this B&W photo can be seen a view of Prague and it shows all the different architectonic styles. You can see the Gothic towers of Clock Tower, Church of Our Lady before Týn, and the Baroque towers of St. Nicholas Church. At the background of the image, you can see the modern TV tower, which stands above the traditional city skyline.
I consider that the B&W format enhances the image.
Prague main railway station is the largest and most important railway station in Prague. It the busiest traffic hub in Czech Republic. The station is 5 minutes walk from Wenceslas Square. Everyone make complains about Ceske Drahy because of their delays.
My favorite place in Prague - TRADE FAIR PALACE
The international art collection of the Gallery contains works by some of the worlds most famous artist. My favorite was the French collection that holds works by Rodin, Delacroix, Renoir, Cézanne, Gauguin, van Gogh, Seurat and of course Pablo Picasso. I was amazed by the size of Picasso's collection. He is the author of the painting on this photo.
I love that place, too! Especially masterpieces by Gauguin! Did you see there "Tahitian Women on the Beach" ? :) It was like WOOOOW for one hour :) @kresnix
Hi @liltammy. Yes, I remember Gauguin's Tahitian Women :) Whole collection is WOW, I didn't expect to see so many great works there.
Yes, it is absolutely amazing collection!! :) Have a great day!
Hi I chose for publication my photo of Plášťový most in Český Krumlov.
Click to view on full screen
It was built in 1767 on the site of a drawbridge wooden bridge. The bridge passes over a deep moat that connects the Upper Castle with the castle theater. The name of the structure comes from the word "raincoat", which in the Middle Ages denoted the type of fortification structures.
Today I have an entry from the ruined castle Zvířetice.
It was originally a castle that was later rebuilt as a renaissance chateau. It is located two kilometers from the town of Bakov nad Jizerou. The ruin is well visible from a wide area. Since 1958, the ruins have been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
Karlovy Vary is the most visited Czech spa town. In the past, many famous celebrities from all over Europe have traveled to Karlovy Vary. Ludwig van Beethoven, Johann Wolfgang Goethe, Niccolò Paganini, Adam Mickiewicz, Peter the Great, Franz Kafka, Frederyk Chopin, and many others. The city center creates many historic buildings including so-called colonnades. I chose one of the olonnades for today's day. Called the Mill Colonnade and is the largest in the city.
I found this as one my best shots of Prague. Thank you for the chance @czechglobalhosts
The picture was taken in September 2015. I was visiting Prague as part of a staff retreat that my office was given. The most special memories are (I) I felt so amazed by the city buildings reflecting the old time which I think is a delight we enjoy today because of the fact that Prague buildings have been quite preserved and not much affected by the war attacks; (II) my then colleagues stoped in the middle of the street during the evening of 26 September to sing me “Happy Birthday” 😊😊
Hey! Back to Prague today with this awesome looking church. I would have thought it was in Italy if someone asked where it was from. It looks unreal! I really like this old looking effect I used, feel like it gives it more atmosphere. Oh, and it is huge! I was standing in front of it on a another picture and I was tiny! :D
