7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday week #12 - the absolute winner takes 150 SBD!

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Hello fellow steemians!

Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 150 SBD! Today you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to a continent of Australia. I am also adding a New Zealand to the same challenge as there were some concerns from other steemians to which continent will NZ go to.

Your entries need to be submitted by the midnight of Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only one picture to be submitted for a daily photo challenge. The rule number one is to use only personal images. Ten winning photos will receive an upvote from me from which I will pick one winner that will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts.

The winner of daily challenge then competes against winners from other continental challenges of the respective week to receive the price of 15 SBD. That will be decided by you based on the dollar value of upvotes of my winning post announcement. The winning weekly picture then automatically enters other rounds for the price of 150 SBD in total.

Please see the Asian Sunday winner and give him support by upvoting his winner announcement post if you like his image to be the one winning the weekly price and entering the other stages of the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge:

This is from my one and only visit to NZ. I need to go back to both Australia and NZ to take more and better photos! This is near the Rakaia River Gorge on the South Island, about 30-45 mins from Christchurch. It really is a stunningly beautiful part of the world.

Thank you so much for a great pic and your submission.

Abel Tasman National Park

We had a gorgeous little cottage in a vineyard above Ruby Bay, drank fantastic local white vine and enjoyed several great sunsets. Exploring the Abel Tasman National Park was great fun. I walked nearly 2 hours barefoot because I had a huge blister on my heel. The great nature, crystal clear water and fine sand beaches made up for it.

Looks beautiful! Thank you so much for your submission. Tomas

It was really beautiful. There is a funny story to this image. We arrived at the ticket box to buy some tickets for the "water taxi". I asked the guy for the price and he said: Your accent sounds German but you don't wear any "Jack Wolfskin" gear. So you can't be German😜
Actually I didn't know that before but it's actually true that a lot of German tourists wear Jack Wolfskin.

This is lake Pukaki on the Southern Island of New Zealand. We were on a trip to Mt. Cook and camped at this idyllic lake with nobody around us for miles. Beautiful nature of it's finest!!

In the centre of Australia lies Uluru, one of Australia's most unique natural formations. Just before the sun sets, it glows a vivid red allowing for great photo taking opportunities.

Fraser Island

Fraser Island is the greatest island with only sand with an area of 1480 km2. You need to take a tour to go on because only 4*4 can drive on this island. I can take this picture of the wreck of the Maheno despite the presence of many people around it.

What an interesting place! Great entry. Thank you so much for your contribution. Tomas

Rottnest Island is a small Island just 20km off the western coast of Australia. The Island is world famous for the Quokka´s, a small animal who can only be found on this Island. Apart from that the Island offers some beautiful beaches and crystal clear water.
