7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – North American Friday week #6 – winner announcement!
Hello fellow steemians!
It is my great pleasure to announce the winner of 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - North American Friday. I would like to say huge thank you to all the participants for their great entries. The amount of entries yesterday was probably the highest since the inception of the contest with high-quality images so it was extremely hard to decide on the winning one. Please accept my apologies for those of you that I did not pick as the winners.
You can see all entries and participants at this post: 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - North American Friday week #6 - the absolute winner takes 150 SBD!

However, the winner is only one and that is for me picture posted by @maxinpower with the following entry:
This is Lake Peyo in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. It always makes for a great shot, the greenish blue of the water is a beautiful contrast to the surrounding mountains and landscape. I was lucky to come here twice, i highly recommend visiting this amazing part of our planet.
What an amazing image from @maxinpower for the North American Challenge. He is submitting some amazing images time after time. I have visited @maxinpower blog and upvoted his post called: A jump at Dreamland Beach, Bali Island - BEAUTIFUL PLANET - Pictures from a great journey Vol. 2. @maxinpower stunning picture from Rocky Mountains is qualifying for a weekly challenge that will be competing against the winning images from the past continents as below and the one coming from todays South American Saturday.
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #6 - winner announcement!
@jon24jon24 Asian Sunday entry:
Cordillera Mountain Ranges
This photo was taken at highest peak of Mount Pulag which is the second highest mountain peak in the Philippines. We had to hike for 3 hours before getting to the campground and we had to take another 2 hours hike from the campground to the peak. It was raining throughout our hike so it wasn't pleasant as we wanted it to be but in the end, it was worth to see the beautiful sunset. We could see the Cordillera mountain ranges along with the golden clouds lying around the valleys.
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #6 – winner announcement!
@betterthanhome Australian Monday entry:
This shot was taken on our first Australia Trip back in 2013. It shows the "Three Sisters" in the Blue Mountains National Park which is about 2 hours drive from Sydney. The Blue Mountains are the perfect location for hiking.
@schmidthappens Antarctica and world's oceans entry:
This is a favorite photo of mine I've always wanted to post somewhere and this challenge is the perfect place for it! This is a photo of the Baltic Sea taken in 2009. I was aboard an overnight ferry connecting Stockholm to Tallinn, Estonia. Nothing really compares to an overnight ferry, a great way to travel. This was sunrise before docking in Tallinn. I think I love this photo because I have such wonderful memories of the trip!
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #6 – winner announcement!
@schmidthappens African Wednesday entry:
Zanzibar, an island off the coast of and part of Tanzania, is one of my favorite locations I've visited in Africa. There are so many beautiful, colorful boats, many waiting for the tide to come back in like these. The natural beauty of the island along with the historic Stone Town make it a great destination in East Africa.
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – European Thursday week #6 – winner announcement!
@travelgirl European Thursday entry:
We took this photo when we visited Milan Duomo (Milan Cathedral). There were options to take the stairs or the lift to get up to the top. The view there was absolutely stunning! As it was getting into winter, you can see the snow on top of the mountains from far away.
The winner of the weekly challenge will be selected by you based on the dollar value of the individual daily winner announcement posts and then entered to a mothly and possibly yearly challenge on the way to win the price of 150 SBD in total. You can give @maxinpower your support by upvoting this winner announcement post.
My next challenge is coming shortly: South American Saturday. Get your pictures ready:)....

Wonderful photos, thanks for sharing :)
Thanks ever so much for stopping by. Have a great day and keep on steeming!
Wow. I think you made a good choice for picking Lake peyo, atimes one wonders whether these places exist as a result of the epic look. Its amazing. It would have been a tough choice for you definitely because i see quality photography there and beautiful places too. Great effort @jon24jon24 the unpleasant journey was really worth it, making it appear like a pool of fire. The Baltic sea doesn't disappoint, and pictures taken at the right time of the day can be really cherished. I could only imagine the memories you had.
It does exist and it is not so easy to reach.
The whole area around is just great, I will tell about my Canadian trips in some of my future post.
Yeah it definitely requires great effort. About the trips i can't wait. Haha
Thank you so much for a great feedback! Tomas
