What more can you say about Rio de Janeiro? It's the second largest city in Brazil attracting millions of tourists because of its stunning natural beauty from mountains to oceans to beaches. I'm pretty sure I took this photo during a ride up Corcovado Mountain to see Christ the Redeemer. There are so many wonderful places to visit in South American, but Rio will always be my favorite!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #43 - winner announcement!

@rinawonderlands Asian Sunday entry:

This is my entry for today contest :) I just went here last week, and it's so beautiful. If you ever want to visit a rainbow mountain in Asia, you should check this one. This rainbow mountains are part of the Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park in China. Layers of different colored sandstone and minerals were pressed together over 24 million years and then buckled up by tectonic plates. It's similar like Vinicunca mountain, in Peru, both has different layers of sandstone colors.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday week #43 - winner announcement!

@josefinemk Australian Monday entry:

This picture is quite special to me. I took it when @kryptocek and I went for a little winter hike at Lake Marian in Southland, New Zealand. We lived and worked in Milford Sound for 4 months and for the longest time we wanted to do this hike - but never got to because we lost our car in an accident and it was 40 minutes drive away. So one day we hitch hiked after work, did the hike, and hitch hiked back (right before it got dark and cars would stop coming). It was so worth it. I mean, look at this view :-)

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #43 - winner announcement!

@vinceboisgard Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Darwin is now covered with clouds, the tide is getting high and the trees will soon almost disappear under the water. Despite the hazy weather, the sun found its way through the clouds to create this fantastic northern Australian scenery.

@axeman African Wednesday entry:

Shot with long tele-photo lens from upper deck of cruise ship while travelling up the Nile from Luxor to Aswan. Indeed was quite lucky to have full moon this evening just risen over the mountains, which at same time richly colored by dawning sun. Pure Mars landscape... Enjoy the scenery :).

@photovisions European Thursday entry:

Norway - Epic view from Romsdalstrappa view point towards Romsdalen valley and narrow Isterdalen - the way to famous Trollstiegen. On the left side steep rocky spikes of Trolltindan - mountain massive with highest rock wall in Europe - Trollveggen. As You can see everything in Norway has Troll in the name - reason? Dramatic landscape looks really like a home of big Trolls.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - North American Friday week #43 - winner announcement!

@ladybug146 North American Friday entry:

Taken on our latest camping trip we took last week to a lesser known part of the Canadian Rockies, Kananaskis Country (Alberta). As we first drove into the mountains that was the view we were greeted with, we decided this was a perfect place to stop and stretch our legs.

This is the last of my undiscovered photos from my trip to Costa Rica in May 2014 to celebrate a friend's birthday. We stayed at Villas Hermosas, a small villa on the west coast in Puntarenas. The hosts were beyond incredible and made the weekend even better. This specific photo was taken during an ATV ride through the jungle to a secluded beach where we had an incredible lunch at a local restaurant. Not surprisingly from the clouds in the photo, there was also a downpour of rain briefly that felt wonderful in the hot, humid weather.

This looks like a scene from the movie Castaway with Tom Hanks. This looks like it would have been such a fun time. Great shot.

Maras Salt Mines, Peru

Powered by a salty river, the salt mines in Maras, Peru are harvested by a cooperative of salt farmers by leading the stream through various salt terraces. I was lucky to visit in the evening, when the setting sought painted the ponds in beautiful colours.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

A truly great ˋextravagant´ impression ~ 🧡 ~ due to the water’s so warm color one at first brief glance could be much more inclined to associate it with a gigantic HONEYCOMB than with salt of all things... ha...!

Haha, gigantic honeycomb, I like that! :D

Wow, great photo!

This looks like another planet. Very awesome.

What a spectacular place and image.

I took this photo at the seaside of Ancud, a port city on the fascinating island of Chiloé in southern Chile. I was amazed by the color contrast of the green trees, the red & white boat and the brilliant sky. All these beautiful elements were spreading out in front of my eyes in the peaceful golden hour.

Amazing image, well done!

Night time view in the Amazon Rainforest near Iquitos, Peru. I was pretty tired from shooting all day but it was so nice at night I thought I should try some night photography. We used flashlights to light up the shack and trees on the left.

That worked out very well!

Wasteland of the Elves

These beautiful mountains belong to the Sierra de la Culata National Park, Cordillera Andina of the City of Merida, Venezuela. It owes its name to an indigenous legend, it tells that in those mountains millennial goblins live, protectors of these mountains and the fauna that lives in them.

Thank you so much for your participation. Have a great Sunday.

Guarita State Park in Torres, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil

This is one of the most beautiful places in my home state in Brazil, the city called Torres hosts the only rock formations along the 600 km of sandy, rectilinear and flat coast. You'll only be able to feel the dimensions of this cliff if you stand there.

If you'd like to know more this is featured on a post. Thank you.

On the top of the world:)

Absolutely, and the funny thing is that there are rock formations only in Torres, the name means Towers btw, the rest of the coast a sandy and plain.

Between nothing and everything we can find The Cardones National Park, is located near the town of Payogasta in the province of Salta, Argentina. In the park there are paleontological remains of importance, such as dinosaur tracks of 70 million years old. These footprints are the object of study for scientists, and as its name indicates it is a park full of cactus.

What a great entry, thank you for that!

Rosario-Argentina

Although I will post another’s great touristic pictures from South America for Saturday´s photo challenges; today I felt to give my respects to my home city Rosario.

This pic was taken this autumn from my balcony. I really like my balcony! You can see the macro down town of the city with the new tallest buildings which looks at the river Paraná (at the background) and the vast trees whose copper color paints the view every autumn. You can find more about Rosario in my blog and in previous Saturdays photo challenges.

such very beautiful lightning ~ 😍 ~ it makes all the difference

Thanks! Yes! The sunsets are awesome

just as the sunrises ~ 😄 ~ there is the most magic in these hours...! you indeed are really lucky to have suchlike balcony :)

Great entry, thank you so much for sharing.

In Cusco, Peru I have taken this picture of this girl who has two small and adorable llamas at her side. This is a great satisfaction for me to find such nationalist children who show us the culture of their country and who transmit their joy with each word they give us.

Great to see people keep their traditions going.

This photograph is from the cave of the Indian in Falcón State - Venezuela. Access to the cave is through a pier that allows you to get off and start enjoying the majestic nature that can be observed here. This cave is open sky, so people who are afraid of closed places would not have any problem. During the visit you can see abundant vegetation, thanks to the heat and humidity, which seems to come from everywhere.

I love ˋthe structure of nature´ ~ ✨ ~

Thank you so much for your participation. Stay tuned for the winner announcement coming soon.
