The Cocora valley is a valley in the department of Quindío in the country of Colombia. It is located in the Central Cordillera of the Andean mountains. "Cocora" was the name of a Quimbayan princess, daughter of the local chief Acaime, and means "star of water". The valley is part of the Los Nevados National Natural Park.

Mount Everest, Nepal. About 1 month ago I took a airplane which circled around the Himalayan mountains including the Mt. Everest. It was by far my most exciting flight and I still can't find the right words to describe this stunning mountain landscape. Breathtaking!

The clarity of the water at my local marine sanctuary is amazing at the moment. I love it when the conditions are like this and have been getting down there as much as possible. The northern beaches of Sydney are so lucky to have Cabbage Tree Bay on it's doorstep!

When on safari in Etosha Namibia, water holes are always the place to see wildlife. It is a very dry area and not much water around. Here we saw some ostrich and springbok hanging out and having a drink at a water hole.

I took this picture a few years ago. This place is Cerro del Ávila or Waraira Repano. It is the main vegetal lung of the central region of Venezuela and at the same time it is a mountain that limits to the north with the Caribbean sea and to the south with the capital city, Caracas.
A place full of positive energies, colors, sensations and endless things that transport you to a completely different world.
I wish I could climb more often but with the situation of our country it is almost impossible to do so.
Thank you for this contest.
The capital city of Colombia, Bogota is - among other things - known for a very lively street art scene. A lot of the most impressive art works, including this one, can be found in La Candelaria, the oldest neighborhood and the city's principal destination for tourists as it is home to the top museums, the government palaces and beautiful old colonial buildings along narrow cobblestone streets.
The Rock of Guatapé also known as the Stone of El Peñol is a landmark inselberg in Colombia. It is located in the town and municipality of Guatapé. The landform is a granitic rock remnant that has resisted weathering and erosion, likely as result of being less fractured than the urrounding bedrock. It is 285 metres long and 110 metres wide.
La Portada in Antofagasta at the north of Chile is this sand/stone arch, which has become an symbol of the city. You can see the city at the background of the image, which is between the ocean and the mountains.
This is the brilliant sunset over Farol da Barra lighthouse at the southern tip of the coastal city Salvador, Brazil. Originally built at Santo António Fort in the 1690s, this site has been long attracting visitors together with its charming surroundings.
Time for Bolivia! Wow what an exotic county at least for us Europeans. I didn't see a lot of it, but Altiplano with its 4500 meters altitude tells enough. It offers an amazing scenery and opportunity for photography!
Pampas and Southern Patagonian Andes
Here is a drone photo I took in the Southern Andes. The dry pampas with the occassional shrub lead up gentle terrain up and to the horizon to steep cold ice covered mountains. You can see the recent snowfall down low as well in the shadows. One of the most beautiful places on Earth.

Local market of Copacabana, near the church. Copacabana is a small town in Bolivia located five kilometers from the border with Peru, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. The municipality of Copacabana is composed of 33 indigenous communities (Aymara) and they are the ones in charge of the various markets of the city.
Beautiful sunset at San Luis Beach, located in the city of Cumaná. Sucre state. Venezuela. The boat was passing at the perfect time in front of the sun. They are magical moments that nature offers us.

Considered the most important region of Ecuador and commonly called the Sierra, it is the most visited in the whole country. Its great natural and cultural diversity includes páramos, cloud forests, lakes, active volcanoes.
