Baishuitai

  Baishuitai, 2380 meters high, located in Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Dêqên, Yunnan Province is at the foot of Haba snow mountain. It is 103 kilometers far away from Shangri-La County. It is a marvelous natural scenery shaped because of the calcium carbonate melting into spring water. With an area of 3 square kilometers, it is the biggest Hua Quan terrace of China.  The scenery of Baishuitai is quite attractive. Seen from the long distance, Baishuitai looks like layers of terraced fields. Shining below the sun, it also looks like a solidified waterfall. Stepping upon its white terrace, you can never tell how much cool and comfortable you’ll feel. It’s said that, in order to help the native Naxi people learn to farm land, two Naxi God conjured this “Terrace”. So Baishuitai is also “called Immortal left field”.  The 8th day of the second month of the Chinese lunar calendar every year is the best time to travel to this place because the native Tibetan, Naxi, Yi, Bai and Lisu nationality people will offer sacrifices to their gods in this day singing and dancing. Baishuitai is a very nice attraction for the travelers because they can see the beautiful natural scenery and enjoy the unique Dongba culture here.  

  白水台位于云南省迪庆藏族自治州，哈巴雪山麓，海拔2380米, 距香格里拉县城103公里，是碳酸钙溶解于泉水中形成的自然奇观。面积约3平方公里，它是我国最大的华泉台地。 白水台景色迷人，远处看去，青山掩映中的白水台好似层层梯田，在阳光照耀下，又仿若凝固的瀑布一般。一脚踏在白色的石阶上，说不出的沁凉畅快。相传，纳西族的两位天神为了让当地的纳西族人学会造田耕地，特地变幻出来这样一片“梯田”，所以又被称为“仙人遗田”。 每年农历二月初八，当地的藏、纳西、彝、白、僳僳等民族要到白水台进行祭祀活动，以歌舞娱神，是游玩的最好时节。观赏美丽的风景，体验独特的东巴文化，白水台是个不错的旅游胜地。
