Unresolved Mystery "Nemrut Dağ"

Nemrut Dağı which also known as Mount Nemrut, 2150 meters high in the borders of Adiyaman (Turkey) province, entered the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987. Making Mount Nemrut so valuable; ancient tombs, monumental sculptures, architectural remains, and unique views. Antiochus I king of the Commagene(69-34 B.C.) who ruled on mountain slopes in ancient times, left here the most glorious remnants of the Hellenistic period to show his gratitude to the gods and their ancestors.
The tumulus, which is known to have been built before the 1st century is 50 meters high and 150 meters wide today. It has been built by Antiochus I, the King of Commagene, on his grave, the place has a perfect spot to watch sunrise and sunset.
There is a protector eagle statue which is representing the sky domination of the kingdom, guardian lion statue is representing the dominance of the earth, statues of Zeus, Apollo and Heracles and the King Kommagene Antiochus I. The King of Commagene blends the majesty of the kingdom with the mountain. Also, there are lots of endless tunnels inside the mountain but it's not allowed to go inside because lots of people got lost and died in the tunnels.
