rolling on their firm thighs, cane sugar, rum and Cuba Libre, and, of course, retro cars.
So with old rusty and not very rusty cars, I will start the topic of Cuba, after all, it was one of the weighty and fatty points when choosing a country for a vacation.

This time Cuba won the choice of travel in the competition with Zanzibar (Tanzania).

Modern Cuba is a “Mecca” for fans of retro cars and colorful junk on wheels! You will see them immediately upon arrival at the airport! And 99% that it will be a taxi! For the Cubans themselves, a retro car is not at all a symbol of Cuba, any car here, even a very ancient one, is most often a pipe dream of a comfortable life and prosperity. If you are Cuban and you have your own car, then you are already a priori a rich person, you can work as a taxi driver, you can transport rich tourists. This is a good business, although not everything is smooth here either, there are many nuances. Different nuances! At least some kind of virus that has brought the entire tourism industry of the planet to its knees.
Usually a trip on a retro car is 2-3 times more expensive than a trip on a regular taxi. But a stick always has two ends, old cars break down more often and are more expensive to operate, there can also be problems with spare parts. By the way, the photo shows a “cucaracha”, a local rickshaw on a bike, this inexpensive form of transport in Cuba is quite popular.

Any tourist in Cuba is a person with money by default, tickets to Liberty Island are not cheap! Get your money ready, white legged wallet!
Russian tourists are not very popular here, but they are very loyal and benevolent, remembering how much money the USSR gave to help Cuba. Before the revolution, Cuba was dominated by American cars. They say that then about 60,000 cars were imported to Cuba. And all these are cars up to 1959, that is, they are already at least 60 -70 years old! A very respectable age! Do you imagine your car after 70 years of operation?
Now the most popular brand of old American cars in Cuba is Chevrolet. (The most popular model is the Chevrolet Bel Air). Although there are also Fords, Cadillacs and Buicks.
