Never Seen a Waterfall Before!
So I went inside one! That's a bit of a clickbait because this post doesn't contain an image of me inside it, but @escapist and @rubencress got some pictures of me being my gremlin self in there, and you'll see that in the blockchain at some point.
We were on a little photography excursion outside of Tallinn and the first place @greddyforce took us was this waterfall. I said to him that I don't think we have any waterfalls in Finland, but I just googled and found out that we actually have a few small ones, oopsie! Oh well, I haven't seen any so I was pretty darn excited when he showed us this and we had good time to take pictures of it. The problem with having four photography enthusiasts together in a same place is that there is a possibility for many of the same pictures, but luckily we all have very different styles so make sure to keep to check all the posts from my companions to see a different point of view of this place.
The usual approach for taking pictures of running water is to take some long exposure shots, but I didn't get any because 1. I didn't have a tripod, 2. I don't have steady hands, and 3. I was on a holiday. I did find one unique point of view to this waterfall by going under a little cliff that didn't have that much water falling from it. I went a little cave man and just took my shoes and socks off, put the camera inside my shirt and jump inside the slippery waterfall. It was fun!
Shot with the Nikon D7200 and Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8.
PS. I'm finally back at home and the rest of the week will be workworkwork, enough with this hedonism! I have a ton of pictures both from Tallinn and Hellsinki, and I haven't really been online all weekend, was too busy being happy, kinda revolutionary to me.

I love a good waterfall @eveuncovered. My last post about my Iceland trip has a few amazing ones that took my breath away. Feel free to have a look - i'd love to know what you think of my photography :)
I took a quick look and wow, the scenery in Icelandic is pretty darn amazing, a dream for a photographer for sure!
Yeah, it was wonderful, although i think i got a bit annoying for the other passengers by trying to stop the car every few kilometres to take photos lol
You should travel with photographers, no one is in a hurry if anyone sees something worth taking a picture of :D
Yeah, that would be a good idea if i knew any - i don't even know any artists to travel with! I'm self-taught, so i've developed my skills in isolation from the art community. bit of a bummer but hey ho
Im going to Iceland in 38days. Im probably gonna stop the car as well after every few kilometers because I cant handle myself not photographing those amazing scenerys :D Im kinda sure that im gonna experience some huge time issues because I have enormous amount of places to go.
haha, yeah! brace yourself my friend, it's an amazing place. i think its one of those places where, no matter how much time you give yourself, you'll want more. Have fun!
Congratulations to you..
You have a great page..
All your photos are great..
Good luck..👌👍👍
Prettttyyyy
Thanks youuuu! :)
Woman! 😈
.. give that man a woman, eh?
hahahaha, well that is artificial, however, is the closest to a real, by the way, very good photos.
Yeah part of it is artificial, but let's not get caught in the minute details like that :P
Of course not, it's beautiful and that's what's important.
"I went a little cave man and just took my shoes and socks off, put the camera inside my shirt and jump inside the slippery waterfall. It was fun!"
Eve at times you can be such a silly goose😉
Lithuanian expression "Like water from goose " means not reacting to something/ not taking something too seriously. But I guess in this case you gave these words a more literal meaning.
I'm silly most of the time actually :D
That proverb is one of the few that is the same in many languages, in English it's "Water off a duck's back", you Lithuanians and us Finnish use "goose".
It seems that this time I didn't make any generic reassuring compliments by using a proxy. Pity.
Well at least you now have a new nickname because I no longer like most of the old ones.
What, are we done with gremlin and hobbit? 😩
Even with all my wizardly wisdom I can't recall calling you a gremlin. Well I am quite ancient so maybe my memory is deceiving me. Hobbit and Mr. burglar are fine. But we are done with "fable" and "spark". At least for now.
Oh it was Gollum on Ruben's post, but I'm with all of them :D
pretty cool your waterfall pics. I love this kind of watergames. it's totally special.
Also here in the dominican republic we have some beautiful high waterfalls here
Thanks for sharing your pics here. What kind of camera do you use?

That’s a few pictures from the first waterfall I hadn’t ever seen. It’s actually visible from a property my family owns in Europe. I remember the first time I saw it I was about 8. I was in such awe of how massive and beautiful it was.
Some impressive shot considering. You can beat a good waterfall, I just love the sound. You can feel the magical energy of the water, nice ! 💯🐒
I love a good waterfall! So many possibilities! I like the unique perspectives you captured by going under and behind it like that :) it is a shame you didn't have a tripod with you for the long exposures but never mind.. maybe next time :)
I'm so fucking lazy when it comes to photography, I don't want to carry anything extra with me. I can walk for hours and hours, but lugging around a tripod and more than one lens is a no no for me usually 😅
I know what you mean, a tripod can be a real pain in the ass to carry around. When I am feeling particularly lazy I take one of these with me:

its not ideal but it does a good job, especially if you don't want to carry around a big tripod. :)
I have been thinking of getting one, maybe I really should because I do a lot of travelling and that could come in handy.
Oh for sure :) I recommend it. Its not as stable as a big tripod but it does the job pretty well and is super convenient for travel :)
It can be wrapped around (stripper) poles right? I have some ideas where I would need the camera to be in a a weird angle where no regular tripod can get to.
I'd say no. If it was a horizontal pole then sure, but if you wrap it around a vertical pole the weight of the camera would just make it slide down the pole. There are other options though:

Thihihih the stripper pole was a joke, I was kinda thinking more of in terms like tree branches and stuff like that, something with a more grip to it, but thanks anyways! :D
