Country by Country 23: Colombia
This series will go country by country through my two-year trip. I plan on sharing some experiences, thoughts, and photos of each country that I visited.
Country by Country 23: Colombia.

When my 3 months in Guatemala came to an end, I took a short trip back to America to visit a friend. After that, I flew to Bogata Colombia.
A friend of mine was also in Bogata at the time and I met up with him and his family. We went to several of the tourist attractions and explored Bogata together. After Bogata, I went to Medellin and Cartagena. The plan was for me to fly to Venezuela after that, but I was denied a boarding pass because new visa requirements had recently been implemented. Instead of going to Venezuela, I went to Peru after touring Colombia.
Here are some of my photos of Bogata.
A market that we visited.

An unfamiliar fruit.
The view from my friend's friend's girlfriend's balcony.

Another view of Bogata from the balcony.
One of the few home-cooked meals that I had on my trip. Herb encrusted leg of lamb. Delish!

A street view of some construction.

There is a lot of graffiti in Bogata.
A view overlooking Bogata.
A photo of me.
Bogata. It's a big city.

A restaurant window.

We went to a salt mine and this is one of the few pictures that isn't completely horrible.
A mural.
Another mural.
Interesting graffiti.
There were a lot of people making big drawings with chalk on the street. This one was my favorite.

From Bogata, I flew to Medellin. I really liked Medellin more than Bogata. Medellin seemed safer and had a better climate. I didn't take many photos there, but here are a few that I liked.
Some really cool graffiti.

Another cool work of art.

It wouldn't be a @fronttowardenemy post without a photo of beer. Here it is.
A view from a restaurant. Medellin was a very nice place for sitting around and enjoying the views and the weather

This is a security guard.
Colombia is probably the best country to eat hotdogs in. They really take the art of hotdogs to a whole new level.

After Medellin, I flew to Cartagena. There was a local holiday happening when I arrived there so the place was packed with tourists. It was also difficult to find a room, and I didn't stay for very long. It was a beautiful place, but I didn't really enjoy my time there. Here are some of the photos.
A ship. I love ships!
Some pretty big statues.
The tourist area of this city is beautiful.

After a short stay back in Bogata, I left for my next destination. Join me for my next post where I'll be exploring Peru.

Thanks for teaching the nice things of my country
My pleasure! It was such a beautiful place!
