The Hydrangea are really beautiful flowers. And I can't believe that I'll be there on 4th of Feb with you family, which is first time, and although I have to leave the same night, it's still the CNY night, so it kinda counts :)

For the flowers, there are a couple of big nursery type but many towns have new year markets setup so don't really have to go far except if you want to feel the atmosphere which means going to the specific big flowers shops in Thomson and going to Chinatown for many new year stuffs though the shopping centers also doing their versions of new market in recent years using the open space to set up the stores which mostly sell the cookies types. The good thing is sometimes you get credit card discounts and it's under aircon but not less crowded. :-)
