CAST AWAY ISLAND - *DESERTED* with BEER & STRANGERS for 3 days!!!
Allow me to share the experience with you!
It all starts of with a tiny 3 passenger plane from the Town of 1770 to this stunning Cast Away Beach!
Strange name for a town I hear you say?...This is because it was Captain James Cook's second landing place in Australia on 24 May 1770. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 27 March 1996.
Turns out...most Aussies haven't even hear of it!?
It's a breathtakingly beautiful view of what became my favourite town in all of Australia.
Fantastic views of the sand bars, beaches, restaurants and then... the open ocean!
The Pilot had to do about 5 trips to get our assembled group to this beach! We unloaded our bags, waved him goodbye and looked around to check out our new temporary home at the Base Camp!
BOOM!!
Just like that..there was WILSON! The mascot to any tropical Cast Away adventure!
A sure sign that we were in the right place ;)
Blessings to Tom Hanks.. I love that film.
And there was Base Camp! A very simple and chilled spot to have a fire, have some drinks and blast out some tunes! There were huge tents behind this 'lounge' for us to sleep and a little home made toilet in the bush...beach views included! 😎 🌴
Over the next 3 days and two nights I became good friends with everybody in the group. And it just so happened, we were the luckiest group of the year!
A group of MICROLIGHT PILOTS landed on our beach, so we did what any backpackers would've done..
We exchanged some liquid money, BEER, for some free rides in their fantastic aircraft!!!
And the views!!?
..They speak for themselves! 😍
We flew from Dusk till Dawn!
Thank You Sirs!
Riding that high throughout the last two days, we enjoyed:
Cliff Jumping!
Kayaking with the Wild Life!
Hiking in the beautiful Aussie bush!
Pancakes in the hammock!!
And a whole heap more!!
So don't pass up this incredible experience when making your way up the east coast of Oz!
Thanks for reading guys!!
Stay Well!!
