Facts about the Tarsier In the Philippines

1.One of the smallest primate it measures 3-6 inches tall.

2.The eyes of it are huge,giving it a very acute night vission that makes them a good hunter.Their eyes will contract until their pupil will only look like a thin line.

3. Their eyes are fixed in its skull.

4.Their neck could rotate 180 degrees allows them to see the sorroundings.


5.Tarsiers are born with their eyes open.
6.The Philippines Tarsier's tail used for balance. It is about twice their body length. Allows them to jump at least 3m from tree to tree.
7.The female tarsier have a lot of breast ,but the pectorallis is the only functional set,while others serve as anchor points for newborn tarsier.
8.Tarsier is primarily insectivorous. Its diet consist of insects ,spiders,small crustaceans and also small vertebrates like small lizards and birds.
9.Tarsiers are teritorial they only cross path with each other during night.
10.They are Endangered specie!!
