WELCOME TO MY WORLD - ROAD TRIP TO DAD
It is the last weekend of the school holidays, so we decided to hit the road and go visit my dad :)
Granny and Jude at the back... mom and Dave in the front... time for a road trip "onsie" (for those not familiar... an "onsie" is an Afrikaans term for a "group selfie" - Ons in Afrikaans means "us") - please excuse my makeup free monster face hahaha - suck it up cupcakes lol!
It is always SO good to get away from the craziness of the city for a few days...
The roads were pretty jam packed, and some points of the journey were quite frustrating..... traffic wise...
After 1.5 hrs we have FINALLY arrived!!! - Nobody was happier than Jude, I can assure you lol!
Who cares about luggage... i want to show my "poppy" my new drone! lol - and off Jude runs... hahaha
We had to head to town to go and get some essentials as well as meat for the BRAAI!!!!!! but Jude was BURNING to get back and jump in the pool. It is only Spring here, so despite the fact that the pool is solar heated, it was only a cool 21 degrees Celsius and I think he was quite brave to get in because I certainly wouldn't!
No matter HOW many times we visit my dad's place... there is ALWAYS something new to see each and every time! Some new development or addition... my dad is truly amazing! At 70yrs of age, he is still building, extending, adding, changing, deducting.... and pretty much just keeping busy! lol
Shopping done and dusted it was time for some VINO - and a little bit of exploring!
This is my dads mini olive grove which he started about 2 years ago... it has already given us plenty of delicious olives to enjoy at family gatherings :)
ok... its braai time!!!
and time to feed the fish with my poppy!
and the a little bit of shenanigans!!! - yes, the elbow licking challenge continues lol
oh man it is SO good to get out of the city!!!! and to express my levels of dedication to this platform I would like to show you all my "setup" right now... lol

You're fortunate to have a dad who is so active and handy.
He sure did! He designed the house himself and continues to build and add on to it by himself. My father is amazing!
That's so cool! My wife has designed two houses for us but both times our plans changed and we wound up buying someone else's. It would be amazing, someday, to have a place we designed for ourselves.
