Day 2 in Saigon part 1

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

The moment I hop into the grab, the first thing I see is the Pineapple!!

I then asked the grab driver, why did you put pineapple inside your car? However, due to the language barrier, I didn't get to know the full story but he is explaining using a hand signal to let me know what does the pineapple does in the car.

The bright yellow Pineapple

So why put Pineapple inside the car? The pineapple absorbs the smell, the dust and it looks good inside the car. I never know that pineapple has such function. Usually, back at home I'm eating pineapple as a fruit or drink it as juices.

Yuka the Hairstylist that I trusted

She works at a salon that I went to in Malaysia and that how we met, then she moved to Ho Chi Minh last year, therefore, I have not really cut my hairs or do anything about it. To find a hairstylist who knows your hair very well is difficult, to find someone who is very skilful on the craft is difficult, to find a hairstylist who has your best interest in their heart is difficult. I'm lucky that I have found one but now she in another city now. Knowing that she is in Ho Chi Minh, therefore, come to the salon and cut my hairs. Since she knows my hairs well, I just told her that I would like to change my hairstyle and having a peace of mind she would cut the best hairstyle that suited me.

The salon is located at the Japanese street, where almost every corner you can find Japanese food. We decided to have lunch together. She introduced me to a lot of different type of Japanese food.

I don't remember the name of this dish, however, the soup is so delicious

The way to eat these dishes is you gotta dip the cold noodles into the soup when you eat it.

Pork Rice, the beansprout tauge look innocent but damn spicy

Japanese Dumpling, taste different from the Chinese dumpling

Overall my first impression of Saigon is great, Peoples are friendly! Languages barrier is real but still okay. The road sign are all in Vietnamese, therefore, google maps are your new best friend
