Malaga. A little gem in the heart of Costa del Sol.
Its status as the capital of the Costa del Sol has made it one of Spain's most popular holiday destinations, thanks to its mild climate and beaches. It is easy to understand why Malaga City is capital of the Costa del Sol. Once considered the poor cousin of Andalusia’s capital city, Seville, it now competes successfully for attention, thanks to its profusion of quirky museums, delightful pedestrianised centre, innovative restaurants and stylish hotels, many featuring trendy rooftop terraces with bar, pool and stunning views. Whether you are visiting from a cruise, a weekend break or as curious Costa del Sol visitors, you will be pleasantly surprised by this intriguing city.
Thanks to the year-round magnificent weather you can nearly always go to the beach in Malaga. From family-friendly beaches such as 'El Palo' to manmade beaches such as 'La Malagueta', there are sandy stretches for everyone on Malaga's coast.
The best way to get an impression of Málaga is to discover the charming corners, stunning sights and lovely neighborhoods by wandering the streets and narrow roads by feet, take a stop for churros con chocolate, ice-cream, a coffee or some Tapas and enjoy the Andalusian atmosphere.
There is lots of great rock climbing in and around Málaga. The amazing El Chorro gorge is 50 minutes drive to the North West and also features the King's little pathway (El Caminito del Rey) - an amazing pathway suspended high above the gorge. That was the highlight of my trip!
The El Chorro Gorge (La Garganta del Chorro) is an amazing place, with
huge walls of rock as high as 400m along its three-kilometre length.

Question, is it easy to get by in Malaga these days without much spoken Spanish? Or do many people now speak English?
