WALKING AROUND TRENČIN CASTLE
It doesn’t happen often that I can spend a full weekend in Slovakia. But this time I was lucky. I got a delivery to Rumanová.
Technically I could have left home on Sunday evening, but I really dislike driving at night. I do everything I can to avoid night shifts. So I left already on Saturday morning. And that gave me the entire Sunday to explore something new.
I started searching on the map for a quiet spot near my unloading point. I found a peaceful parking area not far from the highway and what’s more, it was close to a small train station. Perfect!
So on Sunday morning I jumped on a train and went to Trenčín.
My main goal? Of course – Trenčín Castle.
Even though it was already late September the weather felt like summer – full sun, blue sky… and hardly any people. Just the way I like it.
The castle is huge. If you want to explore it properly, take your time. You can easily spend a few hours walking around.
Today I’m sharing a part of that visit – focusing on walls, inner yards, towers and textures of the fortress.
The city view from the top? That’s for another post 😉
