When I was in Palermo, I booked the hotel right in the heart of the city. It was crucial to me to be able to stroll around at night without feeling frightened, so I chose the busiest street in the entire city. The opera house was quite a distance away, and I wouldn't have even known about it if I wouldn't have attended the Pride march. I was in the right position at the right time 😊 It was dark now and the opera house was long closed, but I vowed myself to come back the next day. I didn't have time for any investigation, so the next day I hoped that it would be open. Otherwise, it would be a wonderful walk to the section of the city that I haven't seen in daylight yet.

When I arrived there were numerous individuals sitting on the stairs in front of the opera house. I believed that they were merely taking a break from the sunshine which was rather intense for so early in the morning. I walk up the staircase and entered the building. It was a bit perplexing as there were numerous rooms, and everything was printed in Italian, but in the end I found my way. I learnt that I could only enter the opera building with a guided tour and that it was starting NOW. I promptly purchased the ticket and the group waited for me for a few moments before we started.
