To ensure that travel is no longer just a dream [English Version]

A few years ago, I thought that, to travel far from home (outside France) you had to be rich. I didn't even think I would be able to do it for a long time. And then in 2013, when I started my photo studies in Lyon, I met a girl who had been travelling on her own for several years, when she was my age, 20 at the time. When she talked about it, it suddenly seemed so simple and affordable.

So I thought about it, and I thought, why not me? The Internet is a great resource for that. Many people have written quality travel sites/blogs, produced travel videos full of tips and tricks. When you take a little bit of time to find out, to compare, it becomes possible, and you can leave for a destination on the other side of the world with a budget not that big after all.

If you manage to free up your time off-season (January, March, May or November for example), you can find really attractive and unbeatable prices. And if it is not possible to leave off-season, there is still an area of exotic destination and where the cost of living on the spot is really cheap: Asia (in fact, for my part, it is for the moment my continent blow of heart, having already been able to discover Indonesia and India).

In addition, some sites such as Voyages Pirates offer good deals all year round on destinations around the world. I haven't experienced it yet, but just ask @lpv to be convinced and reassured !

There are also, notably in France, low-cost public transport systems that make it possible to travel for less than 100 euros by having access to a round trip with the possibility of stopping in 5 European capitals and visiting them at their own pace (the system I know is called FlixBus. I have not yet experienced it for myself, but I have had good feedback).

If you don't have the opportunity to go on a trip, there may be life expenses that don't make room for this dream. I know people who would like to travel but who like to buy nice clothes/accessories all year round or go to restaurants regularly without depriving themselves. As a result, they don't plan to set aside for travel and they don't think they are "rich enough" to travel.

Quite often (because there are always exceptions), it is a matter of choice and priorities.

The advice I have to give you, if you really want to travel despite the external expenses, is to put aside a small sum of money each month and set yourself a travel objective. At the same time, this will result in a few less expenses every month for non-essential purchases, but without depriving you either.

And then, in the end, the trip is not necessarily to go far away, you can travel and discover wonderful things in your country too! As Robert Louis Stevenson's proverb says,"The important thing isn't the destination, it's the journey!"

And if you keep up the pace, in a few months, you'll have the adventure!
