The joy of Long Drive

The road from my city home to the village home is of approximately 2.15 hours, the first half an hour road is in the city, which is usually crowded, but once crossed that then it's a fun drive all the way till I reach my village home. Yesterday I was travelling there and I took some pictures to share my regular journey from one home to another. You will see how the landscape also changes once the city limits end. It is a nice long clear drive and I enjoy these long drives as far as the roads are clear. Over the weekend the scene is different, there is lots of traffic. I try and plan my travel during week days to beat the crowd.

Yesterday when I travelled it was a bright clear sunny day in the city but when I reached my destination over there the weather was different, it was all cloudy and then in the evening it rained. It was a day visit for me, just to inspect some of the work which had to be completed in my absence. All the damage that had happened due to heavy rains has been repaired and restored. Now I can go tension free back to Muscat. While I was there it was bothering me, as to what the condition of the house will be in my absence and the work not getting done. It's all sorted now.

On one side is the Sea, where it is my city home and on the other hand are the mountains where I have my village home. For me it's getting the best of the nature at both ends. Though the city home is not Sea facing, but the beach is at a walking distance of 10 minutes. That's a different thing that the beach is always very dirty and unlike Muscat I cannot go for beach walks here. But I do enjoy taking walks the Corniche. Whereas the Mountain home, it is surrounded by hills and the view there is spectacular. I never feel like returning back from there, but then life has to go on.
