Lahore Fort in PAKISTAN, beautiful architecture of the MUGHAL ERA!
Greetings from Pakistan, STEEMIT!
Today I will be showing you photos captured by me of Lahore Fort, Lahore, Pakistan.
The Lahore Fort, is a citadel in the city of Lahore, Pakistan. The fortress is located at the northern end of Lahore's Walled City, and spreads over an area greater than 20 hectares. It contains 21 notable monuments, some of which date to the era of Emperor Akbar. The Lahore Fort is notable for having been almost entirely rebuilt in the 17th century, when the Mughal Empire was at the height of its splendor and opulence.
These photos are captured by my smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Note5 with a 16MP camera. ENJOY!
(one is greeted by this canvas colored wall upon reaching the entrance gate)
(these stairs were once used by elephants, who would transport the emperor from one area of the citadel to another, pretty epic, no?)
(this was captured from that canvas-like wall, and in the back drop the marvellous Badshahi Mosque and its huge domes can be seen glittering in the sunlight)
(another halllway used by the Mughal emperors over centuries)
(the sun beaming down on what might have been a lush green park centuries ago, now just a tourist spot, what a shift of power)
That's it for the Lahore Fort. I hope you liked it :)
