Yesterday was a great day in North Carolina weather wise, so I felt like exploring somewhere new and filled with nature so I could practice some of my mad photography skills. We decided to check out Yates Mill. I'm getting used to my camera and all the settings, but I still have a long way to go. I really am grateful for discovering the steem blockchain, it has reignited passions that I left behind after pursuing a career in dentistry. All of these pictures were taken by me, minus this one picture of me. I'm using a Canon EOS M6 and a 22mm f/1.8.
Yates Mill is a fully restored, circa 1756 gristmill located five miles (8 km) south of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The antique wooden building just calls for photographers. A lot of weddings, photoshoots and landscape photography are done here.
The scene was beautiful and I hope I did some justice with these shots. The sun was just beginning to set, so the lighting was wonderful. Just watching the water overflow was a great view within itself. Gotta love nature and all its beauty. Except the snakes, and yes we ran into a huge snake. I ran too far away to be able to snap a picture!
Like I said the lighting was great so I decided to snap a selfie. If I would have brought my tripod I would of attempted some more self portraits!
The park is decorated with all sorts of antiques like this one.
I also dipped and dabbled into some macro photography using a typical flower and I'm not too upset with how they came out. I'm thinking of starting a "Macro Monday" into my blog.
If you all have any tips I would gladly take them. Let me know in the comments below what you guys think!
With lots of love,
Jane
