Fun Traveling to Omah Kayu - Malang
Most of the people who live in the area of Malang Raya (Malang and Batu) of course have many who know about the attraction of Paralayang Gunung Many or sometimes called the hill stars, where we can see the city of Batu and Malang from the top of the mountain and can feel the sensation berparalayang over the city of Batu. But this time not only paragliding alone which became the main attraction in the tourist area of Gunung Many Batu Malang, there is a unique inn that also became an attractive spot photo for the tourists, namely Omah Kayu which has been opened since 2014 ago.
Omah Kayu Batu which has the tagline 'Not Just Tree House' is also located in the tourist attraction of Mount Many and adjacent to the paragliding tour. Omah Kayu has a house concept with strong wood materials and good quality (eucalyptus wood, pine and kasuarina) which is founded on pine trees on the hillside. Beautiful scenery from each room in Omah Wood is the main attraction of guests to stay or the tourists who come just for just photographs.

Omah Kayu – Not Just Tree House
In accordance with the name and tagline of Omah Kayu 'Not Just Tree House', Omah Kayu is not just a house (Omah) made of wood, but there are other things that make it not just a wooden house.
Location, layout and materials to build Omah Wood is arguably the main attraction of Omah Kayu. Its location on the hillside and nestled among the trees makes it look quite unique. Plus the wood materials used to build Omah Kayu is always successful to make the visitors to take pictures with the background of the favorite natural scenery attractions in Batu Town.
Starting from the entrance of Omah Kayu to each house or room that exists, visitors will pass the road down the hill is quite steep. Along the way down there will be a short bench (dingklik) of wood that visitors can sit while enjoying the scenic beauty of valleys, rice fields and buildings in the city of Batu from a height.
The sight seen from Omah Kayu can also be regarded as one of its main attraction. As in paragliding, Omah Kayu is also facing the same direction, that visitors can see the city of Batu from the top of the mountain Many. If the night and the sky is bright, then the lights of Batu city lights will look very beautiful from Omah Kayu. Oh yes, for regular visitors (non guests), the time at Omah Kayu is limited only until 5 pm. If staying, can be in the Omah Kayu area during the stay.
There are 6 main building units rented out to visitors. The building is built on a strong pine tree. Wood is used as a building material even this from strong wood and good quality like kasuarina, eukaliptus and pine. The roof of each building uses a kind of fibers.
With dimensions of 3 m x 2 m x 2 m, which is certainly quite comfortable to be shared by 2 to 3 people. Although made of wood, but completely sealed, not much wind can enter the room. Visitors will not feel too cold even though the outside air is very cold at night.
Interior in the room including 1 unit of bed, pillow, blankets and drinking utensils. While for the bathroom of 2 units but outside, guests have to get out of the room and walk out to reach the bathroom. Because the air is very cold, hot water available for bathing.
Spot Attractive Photos at Omah Wood
For those of you who go to tourist attractions Omah Kayu is not to stay, but just a walk or for photographs, there are some interesting photo spots that should not be missed while being there.
The first spot is 6 cabins that visitors can rent it. The doors to each room are usually locked, unless the visitor is staying here. Although the bedroom door is locked, visitors can sit back and relax on the balcony of the cabin and take pictures there with a variety of ranges ranging from pine forests, Batu town from the mountain, the unique cabin or while waiting for someone who is berparalayang above the sky around to be used as a cool photo background .
Here using the queue system, because usually visitors who come quite a lot but the number of houses is limited. Oh yes, every home has a maximum capacity (there is a sign board), ranging from 3 to 6 people depending on the size of the house. So please note that not to exceed the capacity for the house does not collapse or terrace board is not broken.
Spot the second photo is a triangular house with a door in the middle. House with this model is only 1 in this tourist area (as far as my observation). If from above the entrance of Omah Wood located on the west side, then this triangular-shaped house is located at the lower end of the east.
Omah Other wood is Omah Wood much larger than 6 Main Wood Omah and 1 Omah Wood form triangle located on the hillside. The location also separated itself from 7 units of buildings on the hillside. Right on the path to Omah Kayu, the right is a path down the hill and on the left is a wider and uphill road. Omah The new and big wood can be found by choosing the left path.
Another photo spot is also on the hillside, which is a square-sized wooden board approximately 1.5 x 1.5 meters that can be climbed by 2 people and photographed above it with a cool background.

Route Towards Omah Kayu Batu - Malang
The route to Omah Kayu Malang will be discussed according to the origin of his departure. The first route if departing from the city of Malang or Batu city. The second route, if the departure from the city of Kediri / Pare, Ngantang and Pujon.
Route I: Malang City / Kota Batu - Omah Kayu
If his departure from the city of Malang, then simply just travel to the city of Batu. From Batu town continue the journey to the new City Hall building. Arrive at T-junction Songgoriti and Umbrella can choose to pass left or right.
Via right (Songgoriti) is only devoted to motorcycles only, because cars are prohibited through this road. Motorcycles that pass this path is also cultivated is strong to pass a long straight incline. Follow this path until it is over and stop exactly 50 meters before the Pujon - Payung fork (straight to Pujon, turn left to Coban Rondo / Umbrella).
If at the junction of Songgoriti and Umbrella before you pass the left (through Umbrella), then continue the journey up to the fork of Coban Rondo, from there keep driving up to Pujon junction (turn left) and Songgoriti (turn right). Turn right and drive slowly approximately 50 meters, skip the 1 alley on the left. Stop right in the second alley on the left side of the road.
The alley is the meeting point for every route either through Songgoriti or Umbrella, as well as from the other direction (Kediri, Pare, Ngantang, Pujon etc). Starting from this alley and so on inside will be found on the road signs leading to Omah Kayu or Paralayang located in the same location.
The journey will go through narrow streets and perforated everywhere. But do not worry because the car can pass through the path to the parking lot of Wana Wisata Gunung Many.
Start from the front of the alley, continue to stuck at the T-junction (left and right), turn right toward SMPN 1 Pujon. Continue to meet the T-junction (left and right), turn left. After that go right ahead and keep straight despite meeting some intersections in front.
Route II: Kediri / Pare / Kasembon / Ngantang - Omah Kayu
If from the direction of Kediri or Ngantang, then just need to travel to the city of Batu. After arriving on the main road Pujon Market or in front of Sae Pujon Milk Cooperative (Malang Regency), the travel distance of approximately 2 to 2.5 km to the junction Songgoriti (straight) and Umbrella (right). Straight down there one alley and turn left in the second alley. Starting from here the path that is passed the same as that has been translated in Malang route - Omah Kayu above.
Entrance Ticket Omah Kayu Batu - Malang
To enter the area of Omah Kayu, there are 2 tickets to be paid, which is entrance ticket Wana Wisata Gunung Rp. 5000 / person, where with this ticket visitors access only to the attractions paragliding and can walk to the Omah Large newly built wood. As for entry to Omah Wood on the hillside which is a place to stay as well as spot the main photo need to pay again entrance fee Rp. 5000 / person.
Price Rent Omah Kayu Batu - Malang
The rental price to stay at Omah Kayu is Rp. 350.000 / cabin / night for regular day and Rp. 450.000 / cabin / night on holiday. By paying the amount of money, the cabin occupied by guests will be given a barrier so that visitors who come just for a walk or photographs do not go all the way to the area of the cabin that has been rented.
Facilities
The facilities provided at Omah Kayu include 6 unique cabins with spectacular views which include beds, pillows, blankets and dining utensils and 2 outdoor bathroom units. Around the Omah Kayu there are many dingklik (small benches) of wood and fireplace. Visitors can also bring a hammock and hang it in some places where possible.
Parking facilities sufficient to accommodate motorcycles and cars and food stalls located near paragliding tours (outside the area of Omah Kayu) become a complement to this tourist attraction.
