Budapest mini guide Part 2

As promised I will try to write my own review about the trip to Bucharest. I will try not to prolong myself too much and to be less boring as possible, I hope this first guide of mine is useful to many of you.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I would like to describe better the "Budapest Card" which I think is very useful for the tourist who goes to the city. There are various types of cards that you can choose based on how many days you stay; in fact there are cards for 24, 48, 72, 96 and 120 hours. I personally bought the 120-hour one I bought directly at the airport for about 60 euros. The Budapest Card allows public transport to be used within the administrative boundary of the city. In addition, it offers various discounts for restaurants, some museums and restaurants, includes: a free luggage deposit for 4 hours; entry to the Lukacs spa; entrance to the Pal-Volgy cave and various museums in the city such as the Budapest Historical Museum, the Hungarian National Gallery, the Fine Arts Museum and much more that you will find in the illustrative catalog or on the website www.budapestinfo.hu

Regarding the visit of the city it is useful to know that in practice the historical centers are 2, Buda which is the ancient heart of the city and Best which is instead the new and commercial part, divided by the enchanting Danube.

5 Places you can't miss:

1- Palace of the Parliament: a majestic building overlooking the bank of the Danube, rich in paintings and sculptures of the best Hungarian artists; inside the room of the Dome there is the Crown of King Santo Stefano, symbol of the Hungarian national identity.

2- District I: is located on the Buda hill where it is possible to admire the Royal Palace, the beautiful Budai Var Castle with the fortress quarter, the fishermen's bastion and the Matthias Corvinus church. To reach these places you can take a cable car or with the classic public transport.

3- Belvaros district: is the central district located between the Margherita bridges at the Libertà bridge and is considered the commercial heart of the city with many luxury shops. The stop at the central covered market is mandatory, where it is possible to buy food products on the ground floor and many souvenirs on the upper floor, where there are also several stalls where you can eat something typical.

4- Chain Bridge: undoubtedly one of the most famous of the Danube, connecting the cities of Buda and Pest. I recommend a walk along this must-see attraction in Budapest.

5- Cave of Pal-Volgy: with the Budapest Card the visit was included so why not take advantage of it? The tour is special and fascinating, characterized by very narrow passages. If you like this kind of tour go and try.

Other aspects that I want to describe are the thermal baths, the gastronomic part and nightlife, which I will soon publish. I hope I have been helpful and wish you all a happy day.

Come promesso proverò a scrivere una mia recensione riguardo il viaggio a Bucarest. Proverò a non prolungarmi troppo e ad essere meno noiosa possibile, spero che questa mia prima guida sia utile a tanti di voi.

Come ho accennato nel mio precedente post, desidero descrivere meglio la “Budapest Card” che secondo me è utilissima per il turista che si reca in città. Esistono vari tipi di card che è possibile scegliere in base a quanti giorni si soggiorna; infatti esistono card da 24, 48, 72, 96 e 120 ore. Io personalmente ho acquistato quella da 120 ore che ho acquistato direttamente in aeroporto a circa 60 euro. La Budapest Card permette di utilizzare i mezzi di trasporto pubblico entro il confine amministrativo della città. Inoltre, offre vari sconti per ristoranti, alcuni musei e ristoranti, include: un deposito bagagli gratuito per 4 ore; ingresso alle terme Lukacs; ingresso alla grotta di di Pal-Volgy e a vari musei della città come il Museo storico di Budapest, la galleria nazionale ungherese, il museo delle belle arti e tanto altro che troverete nel catalogo illustrativo o nel sito www.budapestinfo.hu

Riguardo la visita della città è utile sapere che in pratica i centri storici sono 2, Buda che è il cuore antico della città e Best che è invece la parte nuova e commerciale, divise dall’incantevole Danubio.

5 Luoghi da non perdere assolutamente:

1- Palazzo del Parlamento: un maestoso edificio che si affaccia sulla riva del Danubio, ricco all’interno di dipinti e sculture dei migliori artisti ungheresi; all’interno della sala della Cupola è custodita la Corona di re Santo Stefano, simbolo dell’identità nazionale ungherese.

2- Distretto I: si trova nella collina di Buda dove è possibile ammirare il Palazzo Reale, il bellissimo Castello Budai Var con il quartiere della fortezza, il bastione dei pescatori e la chiesa di Mattia Corvino. Per raggiungere questi luoghi è possibile prendere una funivia oppure con i classici trasporti pubblici.

3- Quartiere Belvaros: è il quartiere centrale che si trova tra i ponti Margherita al ponte della Libertà ed è considerato il cuore commerciale della città con molti negozi di lusso. Obbligatoria la tappa presso il mercato centrale coperto dove è possibile acquistare prodotti alimentari al piano terra e tanti souvenir al piano superiore, dove si trovano anche diversi banchi dove mangiare qualcosa di tipico.

4- Ponte delle Catene: indubbiamente uno dei più famosi del Danubio, che collega le città di Buda e Pest. Consiglio una passeggiata lungo questa imperdibile attrazione di Budapest.

5- Grotta di di Pal-Volgy: con la Budapest Card la visita era inclusa per cui perché non approfittarne? Il tour è particolare ed affascinante, caratterizzato da passaggi molto stretti. Se vi piacciono questo genere di tour andare a provare.

Altri aspetti che tengo a descrivere sono le terme, la parte gastronomica e vita notturna, che presto pubblicherò. Spero di essere stata utile ed auguro a tutti voi una felice giornata.
