You have such long distances to cover in the US. If you travel a few hundred miles here you run out of land :) I can imagine bigger engines handle that better, but I hope yours is up to it
Bigger engines make a huge difference, especially at higher RPM's. That's really my biggest concern right now. When I drove to Pennsylvania I took all back roads and it was a lot of fun. It took twice as long but there wasn't as much strain on the engine. I've talked with a few other people online who have rode cross country on small engine bikes and they say back road travel is the best way, plus you get to really enjoy the sites, and the charm of all the small towns you pass through. So far it seems up to the challenge.
