ULTIMATE VACATION - LAKE TAHOE - Just arrived and I'm hungry!
Last week, I visited the largest alpine lake in the US - Lake Tahoe.
It is the second deepest lake in the US, and shares a border with Nevada, so the East half of the lake is in Nevada, and the West half of the lake is in California.
When first outside of Lake Tahoe on the hiway, I stopped to see the view on the way in.
There are several places to pull off the road in the summer time, and see the lake below, and the airport.
You will notice from the top picture, to the bottom here, the lake is very far out, and the airport, and then I use the FZ1000 16x zoom to pull it in, and now it's the center of attention in this picture.
Time for Fish Tacos!
And watch some boats on the lake..
I'll be staying next to the Marina on the State Line.
The little restaurant on top of a strip mall, outside on a large deck was the perfect place to see the lake the first day.
Last time we visited the lake was low on water and forest fires threatened the area. The lake was actually full of smoke when we left 2 years ago, so this is a welcome change to see it again, back to it's old self, full of water.

Wow it is so breathtaking just looking at the pictures. Such a beautiful landscape and it is nice to just sit and watch nature in awe and wonder rather than see it choked and taken over by urbanisation.
If I have the opportunity to go to the US I need to go and check out some lakes but I'll definitely remember Lake Tahoe and it seems like it is pretty easy to sight see there if there is an airport and some off roads.
I didn't realise how much you zoomed in. It is pretty cool how your camera retained such great quality despite how far you zoomed in but it seems like this lake has a pretty large land mass.
