How impressive is this tribute to the late nelson Mandela! I feel quite honored to be able to drive past the monument quite often, since it is only an hours drive from my home.
This monument has been erected in the exact location where Nelson Mandela "Madiba" was captured before being imprisoned on Robben Island. It is found in Howick, Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa (what we call the Midlands). Apart from the monument, at this spot you can also find an Apartheid Museum and a restaurant.
It is one of our main tourist attractions in the area. It is set in golden fields out in the country side. The actual monument requires quite a walk to get to, so be prepared for an enjoyable stroll.
Take my advice and add it to your bucket list of things to see!
