Hotel Review - Svatojansky Kastiel @ Liptovský Ján, Slovakia

Hi Everyone,

Just before heading to Poland, we have to stay overnight at Liptovský Ján to break up one of our drives. My other half found this cute little place in the countryside of Liptovský Ján in Slovakia. We arrived just after dinner so it was pretty dark when we arrived and we were just too tired so went to sleep pretty much straight away. The next morning, we went to venture out and explored the place a little before checking out.

Firstly breakfast was included in our package so we had a quick breakfast before our long drive. We were told there were only 3 families staying there overnight so they were expecting us. The breakfast was simple but enough to keep our bellies full.

After breakfast, I had to do some quick packing and my other half took the kids to the entertainment room where there was a range of activities to do including kids toys, books, foosball table an so on. It was such a nice area just to chill and find something to do and most importantly a great place to entertain the kids.

Around the hotel, there were simple decorations and it was very European unlike the hotels we have seen back home which has modern designs and furniture. The one thing I didn’t take a photo of was the room which was a bit messy as I was trying to pack properly. It wasn’t anything exciting though we did get two beds in one room which was really nice to have the family sleeping comfortably.

The staff here was super friendly and they were always free for a chat or even a game of foosball. The thing that really made this place memorable was their beautiful front garden. As we arrived late at night we didn’t see it on arrival but when we saw it in the morning, we instantly felt we were living in a castle with a nice front garden waiting for us. We saw at least 3 gardeners outside making sure everything was in order and the leaves were racked and plants watered. Just looking out the window from our room was a pleasant experience. If you look back to the hotel, it does look like a mansion we stayed at that night. We paid just over $130AUD for our stay including breakfast which was a great price. We loved the place and recommend you staying here if you want to visit Liptovský Ján in Slovakia.
