Populations will not tolerate Covid restrictions ever again... or at least I hope

As someone who really loves to travel and lives most of the year outside of the country that is on the front of my passport, the crazy lockdown times during the Covid freakout was something that really impacted me. I was never on the side of being afraid of this virus and while I tried to stay out of the discussion online about how serious it was I thought that it was truly crazy the the entire world got together to basically close the entire planet. There were a few exceptions but for the most part the entire world was in on it.

I wondered during those times if there really are a group of very powerful individuals out there that are just messing with us for their own amusement. It was a very frustrating time for everyone but for me there were only a few places that seemed to be sensible. One of those places is where I ended up spending a great deal of time through the craziest 12 months of lockdown fever and that was in Mexico.

Mexico never closed its borders and while they did jump in line with the mask craze for a bit for the most part it was just the media patting their own country on the back for wearing masks by showing images like the above where almost everyone was in compliance with masks. Well I was there when it was going on and I can tell you that it was more often than not, not at all like the picture above. In really busy areas they might have had certain places where masks were required for entry but if anyone kicked up a fuss about it the various authority figures would just leave them be. I spent a great deal of that crazy time in the beach areas in the south west of Mexico, and other than the occasional worker in a shop that was by their own choice afraid of the virus, you rarely saw masks on anyone.

While I have no proof of this, rumors in Mexico regarding the cartels often have some truth to them. While the Mexican government, likely because of pressure from other countries, did have a mask mandate, the rumor in the beach areas was the the Cartel basically told the government to butt out and leave these areas alone. The Cartel likely makes a lot of money off of tourism and business was absolutely booming in these areas when the rest of the world was shut down. The Cartel was not going to allow a mask mandate to cut into their profits and well, the government never even tried to enforce mask mandates in any of the 3 rather small cities that I lived in during that time.

For the most part, Mexico seemed to be one of the only free nations left on the planet at that time and it took a mafia organization to make that happen.

While a lot of the rest of the world's populations simply bent the knee to their governments, I feel and sincerely hope that the world learned a very good lesson in those crazy 2 years or so and will not allow their leaders to oppress them like that in the future. It was truly amazing to me the way in which almost the entire world cowered in fear for 2 years or so and even when shown right in front of their faces that places like Mexico that didn't lock down at all and had nothing catastrophic happen, nobody really changed their ways. It took ages before the rest of the world started to come to their senses.

Hell the USA had a ban on anyone visiting that wasn't vaccinated up until just a few months ago. Japan and Korea only recently allowed anyone to visit their countries at all. If you visit these places today there are still a bunch of people wearing masks even though it has been rather conclusively proven that they didn't do anything to stop the spread of Covid.

I almost never saw anyone wearing masks

Not long ago, certain countries that seem to thrive on Covid drama such as Canada, the USA, and Australia started talking about Covid re-emerging, and the people of those countries weren't having any of it. The news came and went without so much as the population even reacting to it.

I hope this is a sign that the global population has had enough of this nonsense and will not tolerate any leader that ever tries to do that to them again. I hope that the people will rise up and get rid of any leader that attempts to make them a prisoner in their lives even though they have done nothing wrong.

I did everything I possibly could to not comply during those times but there were a lot of people that for various reasons didn't. It all became very political at one point as well. Not just because I want to travel, but I absolutely hate the idea that the people of the world would allow themselves to be slaves like that.
