My Journey Dream: From Lahore to Australia - How Long It Really Takes!*

In my first blog, I introduced myself. Today I want to share a dream that many Pakistanis have - Going from Pakistan to Australia.
I searched a lot, so I thought I should share my research with you all.
There is No Direct Flight
The first shock - there is NO direct flight from Lahore (LHE) to Sydney (SYD). You have to take 1 or 2 stops. Total time is 16 to 22 hours.
Most common routes are:
Lahore -> Dubai (Emirates) -> Sydney
Lahore -> Doha (Qatar Airways) -> Sydney
Lahore -> Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia Airlines) -> Sydney
My Experience at Lahore Airport
The journey starts at Allama Iqbal International Airport. Long queues, immigration questions, and be very careful about luggage! Australia has the strictest biosecurity in the world. Don't take pickles, meat, seeds, or dry fruits. Fine is up to $2000 AUD!
Transit - The Most Tiring Part
You will wait 3-10 hours in Dubai or Doha. Everyone is tired, sleeping on the floor, looking for a charger. My tip: Take a neck pillow, eye mask, and a power bank.
The Longest Flight of Your Life
The second flight from Dubai to Sydney is 14.5 hours non-stop. It's crazy.
- First 2 hours you watch a movie
- Then you eat, try to sleep but can't
- Your ears block, legs swell
- You walk up and down the aisle
- Near Australia, they announce again and again: "Declare any food!"
Landing in Australia
Sydney airport is very strict. Dogs will sniff your bag. Every bag is scanned. After immigration, when you come out - it's a whole new world.
3 Tips If You Are Planning:
- Drink lots of water on the plane
- Keep all your documents in hand carry
- Don't carry any food item from Pakistan
