Master of Puppets Festival 2018

Last week me, @umulius & @tryptameme traveled to Master of Puppets Festival in Czech Republic. This is at least in my eyes the only festival in Europe that focus on only dark psychedelic music. The festival offers mainly two musical stages; Rage stage focusing on fast psychedelic music and Kodama stage focusing on forest psytrance. The festival also offers a bunch of workshops and lectures on very interesting topics.

As we did not really have enough money to pay for a flight ticket we choose the cheap option; a 24 hours bus ride with Flixbus to Prague. After arriving in Prague we had to take a few trains for around 3 hours until we reached a small town known as 'Bystrice nad pernštejnem'. This was the closest town to the festival location. From here we chose to pay a local taxi driver 10 Euro to drive us the rest of the way, but not before stopping by a small local café and getting some well deserved french fries.

We stayed at the festival for 8 days before heading back towards Scandinavia again with Flixbus. Me & @umulius choose to jump off in Copenhagen and stay a night there to relax and visit the free town Christiania. A perfect way to wind down after the festival experience! But I am getting ahead of myself here; more about that in a separate upcoming travel blog post. Now let's get back to Master of Puppets!

Photos from other photographers:

I chose to include a few pictures shot by professional photographers that attended the festival in this post to show you a bit of the night vibes. My own pictures from the dark do not really justify the work their crew put into the deco & lights. Hopefully, before long I will have my own DSLR camera so I can provide you all with better quality pictures!

Last but not least

One of the official festival photographers managed to capture a candid shot of us at the festival. As you can see I am in the middle of mixing up a joint. Cannabis (and all other drugs) are decriminalized in Czech Republic, A welcomed touch to our festival experience as neither of us drink much alcohol! ^_^

Sort:

looks like a lovely festival, might check it out next year! Only one stage and full on psy? :)

Three stages. Rage stage (mainstage) is psytrance that is faster then forestpsy. Think darkpsy, hitech, psycore etc. Then Kodama stage = Forest psytrance etc. Also they have a small chillout stage, but I really only saw a few people sleeping there (the stage is not really their focus, so no big names or anything of interest there). Do check out the festival, I will be going back for a second time next year!

Yey, I had so much fun there. What a great festival! :D

It was amazing, especially to get to be there with you!

Looks like a total good vibe :)

Its a festival worth checking out for sure ;-)

Man this festival was so great! Going back next year for sure, though maybe plane or car next time ;)

I am dreaming of a big car that I can fit matrasses and a small kitchen corner inside for next years edition myself!
