Welcome to the 149th edition of #traveldigest! Enjoy!
As always all posts featured here will be put on our Editors Choice Map.

Hey all, I would like to use this introduction to drum up a bit more support for Steemitworldmap.

We are currently working on average 4 hours a day on the Daily Traveldigest, this is next to hours going into development to the current version of the map and an improved version that is in the making.

We truly love this project, the map, rewarding the travelers and writing the digests. We want to give it our all. But we need more support to keep up the work we're doing. Delegating even 10 SP would make a difference, giving us an auto-vote on the digest or following our trail would really help as well.

If you are or know a whale who might be interested in supporting the map, feel free to reach out to me on Discord: Steemitworldmap and Martibis#2314. Thanks a lot in advance guys and enjoy todays #traveldigest!

#1 The most REMOTE community on EARTH

@vcclothing takes us to Easter Island, Chile. After discovering an archaeological site with a toppled over Moai statue they visit the so-called navel of the world. A mysterious round rock that according to legend has spiritual powers. Driving around, you're bound to see some stunning scenery. @vcclothing also visits Rano Raraku, the side of the volcano where the Rapa Nui Tribes would carve the Moai statues. You can still find most Moai statues here, as most never made it to their intended destinations.

#2 Sigiriya / Lion's Rock - the Eighth Wonder of the World

@anddak takes us to Sigiriya in Sri Lanka. The main attractions to visit here are the Lions Rock and the Pidurangala Rock. The Lions Rock is surrounded by some of the oldest landscaped gardens in the world, dating back to 5th century AD. From the gardens it takes around 1 hour of stairs to reach the summit, with beautiful views, monkeys and frescoes to keep you going! Once you make it to the summit, you'll find the stunning ruins of a fortress (from the 5th century AD as well).

#3 The pearl of Malaysia (perfect spot for a calm recharging beach holiday)

@vikapuzach takes us to the Perhentian Islands in Malaysia. There is something here for everyone tastes, on the smaller island you can enjoy the nightlife, full moon parties and chill out next to the beautiful blue lagoon whilst staying in a simple beach chalet. On the bigger island you'll have an easier time with the family, some resorts, nice restaurants and diving centers. Around these islands you'll find the best snorkeling spots in Malaysia. From the marine life, to the monkeys hanging around, you're bound to feel more connected to nature, being here. Best of all? It's still not widely found by other travelers!

Thank you for featuring my easter island story !!! Keep up the great work ☺

You're very welcome! We enjoyed it a lot!

Cool to be mentioned here. Be sure to check my next story about Haiti, it's gonna make it to top 3, I've no doubt.

You guys are doing one hell of a job! I'll set up an auto-vote immediately and add some delegation very soon. It may not be much since our account doesn't have much SP, but if everyone who's using SWM could contribute just a little it may add up to something...

Heya, thank you so much! Yeah, it would be great if we could get a few small contributions, if a bunch of people make a small contribution it goes a long way!

Love your work @steemitworldmap, always sharing such beautiful locations with us.

I am fortunate at the moment to be spending some time in a beautiful location. I am in Noosa, Australia at the moment and loving it. Here is a pic from my room.
