Hello friends, I hope you are all well. For the 4th week of the Steemit Challenge contest, I will be sharing my experience and a review of my visit to the Ethnological Museum. I would like to thank the organizers of this challenge, and without further delay, I am starting my participation.

Which Historical Place Have You Visited? Give Brief Information.
I visited the historic Ethnological Museum in Agrabad. This is the only ethnological museum in Bangladesh that present the lifestyle, culture, heritage, and archaeological artifacts of various ethnic groups in Bangladesh. As far as I know, there are only two ethnological museums in the entire continent of Asia, and the one in Agrabad is one of them. I am very fortunate that it is located in my city, Chattogram.
It is situated in the Agrabad Commercial Area, Sadar Ali Road, adjacent to Meghna Bank. For visitors, it remains open on all days except Sundays and government holidays. On other weekdays, it is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but on Mondays visitors can visit from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
History students from schools, colleges, and universities come here for educational tours. Many historical items, the life stories of Bangladesh's small ethnic groups, the history of all famous poets, and artifacts used by ancestors in their daily lives have been well-preserved here. In other words, by visiting this museum, one can learn about the history of the people of Bangladesh, their life stories, and much more.
Entry to the museum requires a ticket. The ticket prices are fixed based on the visitor's status: Higher Secondary Level Students price BDT 10.00, General Adult Citizens BDT 30.00, SAARC Country Visitors BDT 200.00, and Foreign Visitors BDT 400.00. I visited this museum for the first time for a specialty contest, and I learned a lot from it. My experience was extraordinary.

What History, Architecture, And Other Facilities Are There? Show Pictures + Videos And Show Their Prices.
Firstly, regarding the history of the Ethnological Museum, right at the entrance, a large ceramic tile had some information inscribed on it. It was inaugurated by Professor Yusuf Ali, the then Minister of Education and Culture of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, on January 9, 1974. Its construction began in 1965. It is located on 1.25 acres of land adjacent to Badamtali in the Agrabad Commercial Area of Chattogram.

Upon entering, there are several large halls, and all the rooms are open, with no doors or barriers in between. The pathways are kept simple so that visitors can easily move from one room's exhibits to the next. The entire area is quite vast, and the rooms where the antique pieces are displayed are very long.

This post might feel a bit lengthy, and I will try to share most of the pictures in the post because it might not be easy for many users in the country to visit this museum directly. Therefore, I will share as much of the museum as I was able to capture, which might make the post somewhat long.
In the front part of the interior, there is a room where I saw a small replica of a wooden house. The best thing was that the name and necessary information were attached to every element kept in the museum, allowing anyone to understand the element by reading in Bengali.

On the walls on both sides, there were four detailed pictorial representations of the main streams of human races in large glass display cases for security. On another side, I saw a map of Bangladesh and its neighboring countries with several details, and the map had introductions to the locations of all the ethnic groups living in our country.
There were many display cases throughout the museum, and each showcase contained the introduction of a different community, their clothing, their daily use items and furniture, and their pictures, among many other things.

I saw the history and images of historically well-known places in Bangladesh whose current names have been changed, including the life of the people of that era from Dalui-Mymensingh, Munda-Rajshahi, and Patra-Sylhet.
Additionally, images from the past era of the hilly district of Bandarban in Bangladesh were kept in a separate showcase. The pictures seemed to be more than 30-40 years old and were somewhat faded due to their age, but a small caption below each picture indicated which person or village it was.

The modern touch has barely reached the hill people of the mountainous Bandarban district, and since these regions formed their own local government after the partition of the country, the quality of life for the people there has not changed much yet. The museum contains several artifacts of the people of the Bandarban district.
I was surprised to see the hunting weapons of the people of Bandarban district. The weapons and equipment they used for hunting looked quite fearsome, and in some showcases, I saw animal skulls and the hides of ferocious beasts.

Murong, Santal, Chakma, and Marma are among the main small ethnic groups of Bangladesh. However, the Chakmas are the largest in number because their presence extends to remote areas besides the Chittagong Hill Tracts. In some showcases, I noticed the ornaments used by the hill people, especially the women.
Women of the Monipuri, Hajong, Lusai, Garo, Khyang, and Pankho communities used various metal ornaments. I also saw some other ornaments made of stone, especially necklaces, and several other unique pieces of jewelry.

It was time-consuming to look at all the artifacts in the showcases of each hall one by one. I tried to view all kinds of historical artifacts thoroughly. In one of the central rooms, I noticed large glass-fronted showcases on one side and wooden showcases on all other sides.
These showcases were actually constructed to form small replicas of villages. The villages of the Marma, Murong, and other hill people, showing how they practiced shifting cultivation, were displayed in three dimensions just as they looked. I tried to get an idea of the entire village from up close to the glass.

If I were to describe every showcase and all the artifacts of the museum in such detail, it might become boring for you. However, I tried to present the artifacts that everyone should see, as these historical subjects should be viewed.
Moreover, the clothing and daily use utensils of the various small ethnic groups caught my attention. Most people in the hilly areas wore dhuti, lungi, and gamcha, while the women wore kamiz and special types of frocks all of which were exhibited in the museum.

Now, let's talk about the architecture of the museum building. The museum is quite large in size, very long but somewhat narrow in width. The entire building was painted white and looked very attractive from the outside.
The structure of the building is not like the conventional buildings in our country. It is rather modern and features a new design. The building is a single-story structure, with the main entrance and door exactly in the middle of the front section.
Pillar-like structures were placed on the two sides of the front. Although they look like pillars, they are not strictly pillars and have significant empty spaces in the middle. Up close, the structure of the building looks like this, which maintains the museum's vibe.

All the facilities needed by a visitor, including visitor safety, were available. The entire museum is kept safe by security guards all around, and there were CCTV cameras inside for monitoring.
Many people visit here every day. Since the building is a single-story structure with large rooms, there were many ceiling fans in each room to ensure visitors are comfortable during the hot season.
All necessary precautions were taken to ensure the security of the building. I saw fire extinguishers placed at all important points, including every room. Dustbins were placed in every corner of the rooms for waste disposal.
Since the museum is very old, some of the materials used in the building's construction have aged. Good quality switches and electrical systems were installed. Although the switches were somewhat old, they were durable.

The GroundsOutside the museum, many arrangements have been made for visitors to spend time. Flower gardens have been planted around the fields outside the museum. I saw that vegetable seedlings were being cultivated in one field, but I couldn't quite figure out which vegetable it was. Moreover, there were swings and other children's play slides outside for young visitors.

What Did You Learn From Going There Or What Attracted You The Most?
visiting this museum, I learned about the life and livelihood of the small ethnic groups of Bangladesh, the daily necessities they used, their utensils, their ancestors' hunting gear, their attire, and the history of their lives. I learned a lot about how the people of the hilly districts of Bangladesh actually spend their lives by coming here.
What I found most attractive were the three-dimensional showcases creating replicas of the villages. The small elements used to create the showcases showing what the villages of the Chakma, Marma, Murong, Garo, and Lusai communities looked like and what their village environment was like were the most captivating for me, and I spent most of my time at the museum looking at these village showcases.
I had a great desire to visit this museum because the lifestyle of the small ethnic groups of Bangladesh is not like ours. They live in hilly or remote areas, which is why their social system is very different from that of other Bengalis.
It would be difficult to go directly to the hills and observe their way of life, but I was able to learn a lot about them by coming here, where their history is recorded in the museum. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to see some artifacts of renowned individuals, political figures, and all the famous poets of Bangladesh there.
Show Some Real-life Moments From That Place.
I spent some time outside the museum. I saw many young visitors spending time on the children's swing there. Seating arrangements were made on both sides of the field outside for visitors, and many visitors will enjoy spending time outside looking at the nearby flower gardens.
Video moment
Inside the museum, I noticed that most visitors were college or school students, and their teachers were with them. I tried to capture some videos of the moments inside the museum. Since the museum is built around historical artifacts, everything there was old, and the only live things to see were outside the museum.
