An oil city in Manchuria

Daqing City is a city famous for its petroleum industry. It is located in the northeastern part of China's Heilongjiang province. I prefer to refer to this land as Manchuria. Daqing is home to a large-scale oil field. Interestingly, many people believe that if Japan had discovered this oil field during World War II, they would not have launched the attack on Pearl Harbor. What is your opinion on this?
