To achieve a similar feel, I started by matching the area and emotion, then translated it into camera language, although the location is similar but with a different object and story structure. I visited Saptrishi Park, Phase-1 Pallavpuram, Modipuram, India, another park I often visit, as it has a walking path and a library besides the office of the senior citizens, of which I am a member.

I tried to make the object feel like a character:

To show the pair as a living character, my story is narrated by the pair of shoes itself. I have tried to capture the mood of this pair of abandoned shoes and to define its core feeling, the lonely, tense, nostalgic, hopeless uneasiness.

I am lying here in this park, near this round cemented stage. I once belonged to this cruel man who loved morning walks. Every day, he slipped me onto his feet, and we went together for a walk in this park paths.

We sat under trees and past benches and laughed as the sun rose. I was a pair of walking shoes, made for comfort, made for miles, and I was proud to carry him.

The pair further says, "I understand today; the time has changed me." My sole grew thin, my cushion flattened, and my fabric tore at the sides. I could feel it before he said a word.

I was no longer useful to him. This morning, he stood in the park, looked at me, and left me here where you are watching me lying helplessly. He walked away on his bike in socks without even giving me a second look, as if I had never been with him.

I did not move but I could see the park was full of life. I can hear birds, people pass by on the path. The grass moving in the wind. Yet I stay where I am, abandoned but still remembering every step I had carried, every mile I had survived with this selfish guy.

You see, he has thrown me, but I am not entirely worthless. I am still holding hope inside me. Maybe a ragpicker will come and take me away, or I will be the help of a poorer guy in the near future.

In my micro-film, I captured the entire video, keeping the pair of shoes as the main character. I started with a wide shot as in the original clip, including the background. I moved my camera closer and farther to show the moods and shades of the pair.

For my micro-film, I chose this pair of shoes in a park where I go to bring reality and also because I believe this garden is the most suitable place for this abandoned pair of shoes.

Why this object?

The location for my film is a park where I often go, first I left this pair of shoes near this round-shaped stage where I often sit. This is a pair of shoes, which once used to be bright, now look different, which creates a contrast of moods.

I wanted to show the pair of shoes in a desperate mood, which matches the contest's demand and shows the character of my story that makes it stand out in this park.

Then I put them on and left them near this bench.

It looks like the right place where it used to walk and this park is close to my place, has Google location, and therefore is easy to PIN on Steem Atlas.

Through this pair of shoes, I wanted to show as if the shoe were expressing his feelings in his own words,

I remain here, quietly gathering dust beside the path, while the world keeps moving on. I was only a pair of shoes, but I am no longer needed. A pair of shoes may be left behind, but the miles it held, the memories it touched, and the love it carried don't disappear so easily.
