Video Contests - Speak on Steem Week 1: Travel

Dear Steemians,

This is the beginning of video contests on Speak on Steem! We shall come up with different topics each week, and to start with, we present a "Travel Video Contest."

Travel videos qualify as personal, authentic recordings of journeys to new destinations, showcasing experiences through visuals, narration, and storytelling. They typically highlight sights, culture, food, or adventures to inspire viewers.

Include dynamic footage like landscapes, interactions, and activities such as hikes or visits to public interest travel destinations.

You can add feature narration or explain the "why" factor behind the trip, personal reflections, and practical tips.​

Required Footage:

Original video clips, and not just photos or slideshows, captured by you on-site with smartphones or cameras. Add sounds, music (royalty-free), and smooth edits for engagement.

Travel video contests with a 3-5 minute limit on clear, fair rules that encourage creativity while ensuring originality and quality. ​

Eligibility Rules

1- Open to all Steemians, but entrants must confirm original content captured personally.

2- No AI-generated or stock footage.​

Technical Specs

Videos must be at least 3 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes.

Include subtitles if there is non-English narration; prioritize clear audio, high resolution, and stable footage.

Content Guidelines:

Focus on authentic travel experiences like hidden gems or cultural vibes, with narration highlighting personal stories.

Discriminatory content, celebrities as the focus, or copyrighted music are prohibited (use royalty-free only.)​

This contest starts on Thursday, January 8th, 2026 at 00:01 UTC and ends on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, at 23:59 UTC. Posts submitted before or after will not be considered.
