Charm the Seven-Tier Waterfall, South Aceh

The Seven-Tiered Waterfall in Batu Itam Village, Tapaktuan, South Aceh, is a popular natural tourist destination offering pristine views and natural pools at each level. This enchanting waterfall is located in Batu Itam Village, approximately five kilometers from the capital of South Aceh Regency, Tapaktuan City. Locals refer to this waterfall as the bathing place of the Dragon Princess (Princess Youngest). A traditional story tells of a legendary dragon princess who bathed here. This folktale is an integral part of this natural tourist attraction.

The natural setting is pristine, with cool waters, and it is surrounded by dense, well-preserved forest. Access to the Seven-Tiered Waterfall is now easier. From the paved parking area, visitors only need to walk about one kilometer along a footpath and a gentle incline. Although the terrain to the top of the waterfall is quite challenging, the cool forest atmosphere and the natural aroma of tropical vegetation will accompany the journey. Visitors can bring four-wheeled vehicles and only pay a parking fee of IDR 5,000, equivalent to 5.13 Steem.

From the top of Batu Itam Mountain, visitors can refresh their eyes with the beautiful view of Turtle Bay and its blue sea. This area was once a nesting ground for sea turtles, but unfortunately, these are now very rare. At this seven-tiered waterfall, you can unwind by bathing in the pools. Each level has a pool suitable for bathing. Bathing under the waterfall feels like your body is being massaged, relieving fatigue and tiredness after a tiring day exploring Tapaktuan. The water falling from a height creates a refreshing natural massage sensation for the body, perfect for relaxing and alleviating fatigue.

Visitors can only enjoy the beauty of this waterfall up to the fifth level. To reach the sixth level, extra care must be taken as you climb steep, rocky hills. To reach the seventh level, you must follow a river deep into the forest. Reaching the sixth and seventh levels requires extra stamina and extreme caution as the terrain is steeper and more slippery.
