During my first year in the university, there was a trip I had been dreaming about for months which was visiting Agbokem waterfall in the Ikom local government area of Cross River State, Nigeria. The place is a very popular place in Cross River which people often talk about and it is a place that is full of adventure, a place that promises race.

Just days before my departure to the place with some of my friends, an unexpected school activity in my department which was writing tests, assignments, defense etc arose, and I was on the verge of cancelling everything that I had planned for. The thought of abandoning or postponing the trip felt tempting to me, given the stress and the deadline given by my lecturers.

But something inside of me pushed me to go on the trip as my friends were ready to go. I packed my bags in a hurry, leaving behind the worries and doubts.

As I arrived at the waterfall village, I was greeted by breathtaking scenery, crisp air, and a sense of calm I hadn't felt for years. I spent my days visiting the waterfall swimming, walking through lush forest, discovering hidden mountains, and connecting with locals who shared stories of their traditional way of life.

One evening, I watched the sunset from a mountain peak, feeling grateful that I had chosen to take that journey with my friends despite the odds in school.

The journey turned out to be a reminder that sometimes, the moments worth having are the ones we also let slip away. My trip to Agbokem waterfall which I thought of not embarking was the trip that transformed my perspective on taking chances and embracing the unexpected in life.
