Central Shaheed Minar, Basail

Located next to Basail town in Tangail Upazila, this Shaheed Minar is a memorable place for all people. Every year on February 21, various cultural programs and honorary programs are organized at this Shaheed Minar.

February 21 is the International Mother Language Day of Bangladesh. Various programs are organized at Shaheed Minar to commemorate this day. For this, different people of the city come to visit this Shaheed Minar.

To go to this Shaheed Minar place, you must come to the city. You can use any transport here and then come south from there. You can walk south for a minute from the city. Then you can see the gate of this Shaheed Minar located on the left side of the road.

In front of the gate is written Central Shaheed Minar Basail, Tangail. This gate is locked. There are two gates here side by side. One is a general gate through which people enter, the other is for vehicles. In front of the Shaheed Minar, there is a field where various programs are organized.

Since government activities are held here, this place shown here is completely under the government's jurisdiction. Every year on February 21, when people come to this Shaheed Minar from the morning to offer flowers, that moment is an emotional moment for all Bengalis. On February 21, 1952, many Bengalis were martyred while carrying out the language movement.

The Bengali language originated from then. For this reason, this Shaheed Minar has been built in every place to commemorate all the people who were martyred there. There is a playground in front of the Basail Shaheed Minar. The Shaheed Minar structure has been made very precisely. A curved roof has been made behind it for special military forces to stand. So that all the members in the field in front can lead.

The Shaheed Minar pillar that you can see here is found in all parts of Bangladesh and its structure is similar. Here, three curved pillars are seen side by side. An equal pillar has been made with the three pillars and in the middle of which there is a red round circle. Along with this, a total of four pillars have been made, two each, which work as symbols.

This pattern is reflected beautifully on Ekushey February. Millions of people in Bangladesh go to this Shaheed Minar from six in the morning on Ekushey February to pay homage to the martyrs and offer flowers. Since it is a Shaheed Minar, a CCTV camera and lighting have been setup on it. So that it can be moved around very easily at night.

Every year on February 21, various government programs are held in front of this Shaheed Minar. Then the heads of all the military forces of Bangladesh are present here. Bangladesh Police Force, Ansar Force, Army are present here and pay respect to the martyrs.

There was a school next to it where board exams were held. When you see Shaheed Minar from a distance, a sense of respect works in the mind. In front of Shaheed Minar, a lot of space has been created on the floor where it is forbidden to enter with shoes. Because flowers are kept here to pay respect to the martyrs. This structure of Shaheed Minar looks beautiful from a distance.

When all the people of Basail city pay respect to the martyrs on Ekushey February, this place is decorated with flowers. That day is a day of honor in Bangladesh, so people from all walks of life in Bangladesh come here to offer flowers.

Since it is a Shaheed Minar, no kind of immoral work is done here because the security system here is very tough. There is a parking facility next to this Shaheed Minar and there is a rest facility. It is a wonderful monument in the middle of the city.
