Ma-Baba Doa Hotel and Restaurant is a well-known name in Badarganj Upazila. The main attraction of this restaurant is the homely taste of the food, which is hard to find in many places these days. There is no extravagance in the cooking here, there is no use of extra spices or artificial flavors. Rather, every dish has a touch of familiar Bengali cooking, which automatically brings a sense of satisfaction when you sit down to eat.Rice, pulses, different types of bhartas and fritters are the most common in the food list. Simple items like aloo bharta, eggplant bharta or shakbhaji also stand out here as they are cooked with home-like care. Among the fish curries, the locally available rui or kachki fish is quite popular, and the meat section is usually chicken broth or bhuna. Simple food like singara or puri is also on the list of favorites for breakfast.
Along with food, tea and a variety of cold drinks are easily available here, which is quite enjoyable after a meal or while relaxing.From the point of view of price, Mother and Father's Doa Hotel and Restaurant is quite comfortable for the people of Badarganj. What special food or drinks in this place attracted you the most?
What attracted me the most when I visited Baba Doa Hotel and Restaurant was not the flashy food or the fancy menu, but the homely taste and sincerity hidden in the food here. While eating in many restaurants, it seems that the taste is okay, but somewhere there is a void. But that feeling does not come while eating here, instead it feels like eating in a familiar home.What drew me to this place was the simple yet deep flavor of white rice, dal and bharta. Especially Aloo Bharta and Kachki Fish Jhal these two dishes stand out to me.

The mixture of green chillies, onion and mustard oil in the potato filling is reminiscent of home cooking. It is not the additional spices in the kachki fish sauce, but the fish's own taste that becomes the main thing. Eating these two padas together with hot rice, I felt like eating real desi food after a long time.Among the fish items, the roe fish broth was also quite interesting. The broth's color, smell, and taste everything was moderate. Not that the solder is too much or the oil is muted, nor is it pale. It is this balance that fascinates me. It is boring to eat fish soup in many places.But that feeling didn't come here.

The time spent at the Doa hotels and restaurants with my parents is special to me mainly because of those ordinary moments, which are often the most memorable. Even though it was not a big event or an expensive meal, the experience of sitting there and eating parota and dal that day was quite different. When people rush to eat during the busy morning or afternoon hours, the usual buzz of this restaurant and the smell of cooking together create a familiar atmosphere.When we ordered the parathas and dal, I saw that the kitchen was busy but there was no rush to serve the food. When the hot paratha arrived at the table, it was immediately clear that it was freshly made.
The parota was lightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, fried in such a way that excess oil was not visible. The dal served with the paratha was thin but full of flavour. The dal had a mild garlic and masala flavor, which mixed with the paratha to create a homey taste.The simplicity of these two dishes was the best part of the meal. Parota and dal such a common dish, but sitting here, I felt like coming back to a familiar taste after a long time. The talk of other people sitting around, someone rushing to work,And someone sipping tea while eating slowly all in all, the whole atmosphere was alive and real.
