Blockchain Infrastructure for Secure Healthcare Data Management
The Blockchain world is really transforming and moving at a very rapid rate. We are having better blockchain infrastructure developing at a very rapid rate most especially for the healthcare data management and this is something very beautiful to behold. We actually need it in this digital world.
For me healthcare data that includes patient records and even prescriptions and much more. These are very sensitive information and they must be protected from loss. This is one of the major reasons why I believe that the Blockchain technology can easily helped to solve these problems.
What do I mean by that? Blockchain is a system where data is stored in blocks and linked together in a chain. Each block is secured using strong cryptography, making it very hard for anyone to change the information once it is recorded.
In healthcare, this means patient data can be stored safely and cannot be easily tampered with. I find this very useful because it builds trust between patients and healthcare providers.
That is not all. One of the advantage of the Blockchain is the fact that it is actually decentralised in nature. What do I mean by that. Now instead of the data been stored in a very centralised place, it is been shared across to many computers which if you should ask me is the better deal.
This will help definitely to help reduce the constant risk of a single point of failure if it is been stored in the central place. Even if a system is hacked, it can lead the entire data to be lost.
Blockchain also improves data sharing. Doctors, hospitals, and laboratories can access patient data quickly and securely, with permission.
This can lead to faster diagnosis and better treatment. At the same time, patients have more control over their own data. I like the idea that patients can decide who sees their information.
Yes I actually know fully well that there are challenges that are involved such as the high cost, such as the technical complexity and many more but I strongly believe all of these are actually minor that even with those issues, the Blockchain infrastructure has the potential to transform the healthcare data management to even make it more secured and efficient.
