Sending 104 USDT on TRON requires 345 Bandwidth and 64285 Energy

Your Energy payment ratio is 100% as the contract creator holds insufficient Energy.

Sending 104 USDT on the TRON network consumes 345 Bandwidth and 64,285 Energy, which are the essential computational and storage resources used to process and record the transaction on-chain. Bandwidth is mainly spent on transmitting data through the network, while Energy covers the smart contract execution cost—especially relevant when interacting with TRC20 tokens like USDT. These resources are either drawn from your staked TRX or paid for in TRX at the current network conversion rate, depending on your account’s available balances.

In this case, my Energy payment ratio is 100%, meaning that I must bear the full Energy cost because the USDT contract creator does not provide any free Energy allowance. When a contract has insufficient Energy or has not configured subsidization for user interactions, the sender’s account automatically covers all computation expenses. As a result, the transaction will deduct the required TRX equivalent for 64,285 Energy, in addition to consuming 345 Bandwidth, to ensure successful confirmation on the blockchain.

If you don’t have enough TRX staked to cover the required Energy (or Bandwidth) for your transaction, the TRON network will automatically deduct TRX from your wallet to pay for the missing resources. In this example, since sending 104 USDT requires 64,285 Energy and the Energy payment ratio is 100%, I need to pay the full cost in TRX if I haven’t staked enough. The network calculates this cost based on the current Energy-to-TRX conversion rate at the time of the transaction.

So in short:

  • If you have staked TRX → your staked resources are used first (free).
  • If you don’t have enough staked → the deficit is paid in TRX automatically from your wallet balance.

Hey @justyy! Another banger post demystifying the complexities of the TRON network! 🤯 This breakdown of Energy, Bandwidth, and transaction costs, especially concerning USDT, is incredibly valuable. The visual example of the 100% Energy payment ratio really clarifies how those resources are utilized and paid for.

Your explanation of staked TRX vs. direct TRX deduction is super practical knowledge for anyone using the TRON blockchain. Thanks for always providing such clear and concise explanations – it helps make crypto more accessible to everyone! Definitely resteeming this for wider visibility.
