You sure?? So you cant implement decline voting rights as long as he is voting?
hmm. So he would have to remove his votes on his own?
But if the koreans side with us we get supermajority and he no longer controls the chain.
you cant change the chain with a soft fork. you can only deny transactions from being processed, in this case. it's been made very clear by crimsonclad.
the decline voting rights operation requires a private key and lasts one month i think.
if we get super majority back we are still vulnerable to exchanges, him buying stake, or big players switching sides again. without a hardfork freezing his account we are still majorly exposed.
Im trying to figure this out from Justins perspective..
The only fear i see him having is the ninjamine being frozen from transfering then.
Theres one problem there...
I dont see any way for him to choose anything other then a hardfork to liquify his stake instantly.
If the situation remains like this he will never get his investment back and he doesnt seem willing to trust the community to not freeze his stake.
It is him that is inflexible thus he is essentially stopping himself from coming out of this on top.
I see nothing that will convince him to stop voting his sock puppets since i dont think he will trust anyone that the ninjamine wont be frozen, so we remain as is.
Its on him to make the first move since there is no move we can make. Koreans can though, and their move could very well destroy steem.
Sun already has the coins to dump this chain into the dirt. He doesn't need an instant powerdown. Remember those 5M liquid coins he transferred to the exchanges that everyone said was an "obvious bribe"?
That was not a bribe. That was to make the insolvent exchanges more solvent, and in all likelihood, the exchanges owe those coins back to Justin. Considering he can't even dump 5M coins on the market I'd say he's doing just fine. That would crash the price too hard. There's a reason why Ned hasn't just sold out to the community via the exchanges.
