The true spirituality: Whoever regards her as of great value will inherit glory; the LORD will bestow his blessings wherever she enters. Ben Sira 4:13

The Book of Ben Sira in the Bible is simply a manual of wisdom, an ancient text that introduces the reader to the true spirituality, because when the Bible says that God is spirit, what it is saying is that God is the wisdom itself. Wisdom then presents herself as a spiritual mystery that must be discovered because she tests men and does not allow herself to be captured by those who are not worthy of her, many people fail in her search.
Wisdom is unfailingly a treasure for those who know her intimately and a gateway to the knowledge of invisible realities. Solomon met her and received her from God in the sacred place of Gibeon, after being crowned king of Israel, when he asked God for a heart that knows how to listen. And so Solomon received not only wisdom but also all that accompanies her, such as the gifts of understanding, spiritual discernment, immortality, and contemplative life. All the secrets of the universe were revealed to the king Solomon, and nothing escaped the comprehension of his mind.
Solomon, who was an example of great wisdom and prudence, is credited with writing many books and leading the nation of Israel to its era of greatest splendor. Seeking and desiring wisdom as the most precious good through the spiritual path of righteousness is the only true path for man, as all the wise men of history have demonstrated, and whoever forgets this inevitably falls into error, deception, lies, and heresy. Ultimately, wisdom orders and blesses everything, the sapiential books like the Book of Ben Sira constantly remind the spiritual seekers this great truth.
This is why Ben Sira wrote these brief words in his book to describe what happens to those who are blessed with wisdom and her path, the righteousness:
"Wisdom exalts her children
and helps those who seek her.
Whoever loves her loves life,
and those who seek her out diligently will be filled with joy.
Whoever regards her as of great value will inherit glory;
the LORD will bestow his blessings wherever she enters" Ben Sira 4:11-13.
Ultimately, this is what true spirituality consists of: worshipping wisdom as the most perfect thing and leading a life full of mercy.
