South Park, season 27 (episodes 1-2): How the mighty have fallensteemCreated with Sketch.

I had heard a lot of comments about the new South Park and how it was terrible. I thought it was just disgruntled MAGA talking about the double standards of comedy, etc. Sadly, I have to agree with them...

Episode 1: Cartman loses his best comedy show (NPR), and people in South Park also complain to various insatisfactions. So they run to Mr. Garrison's house, only to realize that he quit politics long ago. So they call the White House to speak with Trump (who looks like Saddam of the old days) who wants to sue them. But then, he goes to bed with Satan, who thinks he needs therapy.

I think I had one or two smiles during the whole episode, that's it. Small dick jokes aren't funny, and that's all there is to this episode. Even my husband, who would vote for a blue cardboard box, was trying to find the punchline. And what's with that resurgence of religion?

Rating: 1.5/5

Episode 2: Mr. Mackey loses his job as a counselor, so he joins ICE, enticed by generous benefits and the fact that they hire anyone. Meanwhile, Cartman gets his fire stolen by Clyde, who uses the same tired talking points. He then starts "masterdebating" against college girls and "owns" them.
This episode has very dark humor, starting with Kristi Noem's dog shooting. Also, are those conservative podcasters using THAT many non sequiturs when they do their debates? Finally, the mocking of the MAGA crowd is getting tiresome; we got it the first time

I haven't seen the last 5 seasons of South Park but have seen small reels and I haven't found them as funny as the old shows. Who knows maybe I will find the old shows just as bland.
