Gob of the Ozarks
Please note that like everything you'll find here, there are spoilers below.
I've watched the single season series "Ozarks" a bunch of times, and I see so many shows twisted together into a masterfully drawn together web; Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, that hillbilly show where they live on a hill and have ATV pit fights.
I see the story of Job in Ozarks. Imagine the series from his point of view. He believes in god and his faith is shaken and his wife's unborn child is ripped from her uterus and placed in a basket. The show isn't about him. He's an object tossed aside because it's in the way. He's stepped on like a bug by the events flurrying around him.
Why?
What did he do? Any explanation is wrong. He's simply not the focus of the story. This is the meaning of the story of Job.
But he resists. The hillbilly Devil quotes bible verses at him.
What do you think? Is life a matter of our choices or are you just in the way of something bigger?
