5 Disappearance of Timothy Fry-Pitzen
On May 14th, 2011, Marie Fry-Pitzen was found dead in her hotel room after an apparent suicide. She left behind a note that read “You’ll never find him”, a note which was in reference to her own son, Timothy. It seems that Marie took her son out on one last trip, visiting multiple water parks and zoos. However, whatever fun trip they were on ended when Marie’s life ended and Timothy was nowhere to be found.
4 Disappearance of Lars Mittank
German tourist Lars Mittank was visiting Bulgaria with his friends when he got into a fight with four other men over sports teams. He ended up getting hit in the ear and dealing with a ruptured eardrum. He had to be left behind in Bulgaria to rest and take antibiotics while his friends went back home. When he got to the airport, he started acting strangely, as seen by security cameras. He called his mom, worried that four men were following. Later he was seen running out of the airport with none of his luggage, climbed a fence, and was never seen again.
3 Art Bell Area 51 Phone Call
Art Bell is a famous for hosting his radio show about all things paranormal. On one of his recordings in October of 1997, a frantic sounding man called in to his show claiming to be an ex-employee of Area 51. He sounds really worried, as if being actively pursued and before he could say anything of substance, the studio starts experie ncing technical issues and everything blacks out. A few days later, the man calls back and admits to being a hoax and even says the broadcast blacking out scared him even though it was fake. Many believe that this is a fake explanation forced to be broadcast by Area 51.
2 Elisa Lam
Lam Ho Yi also known as Elisa Lam, was a Canadian student from the University of British Columbia who was visiting Southern California as a part of a “West Coast Tour” she was taking. Her dead body was found floating in the water tank on the rooftop of the Cecil Hotel despite the fact that the water tank and rooftop access is usually kept locked. Her body was only found after guests at the hotel started to complain about a strange taste and scent about the tap water. Footage of Elisa Lam was later released of her acting very strangely in the hotel elevator, acting as if she was hiding or playing with an unseen figure. The Cecil Hotel has also historically been a place for serial killers to hideout and has been home to several suicides which only adds to the mystery of her death.
1 Tower of Silence
The Tower of Silence is a circular, raised structure built by ancient Zoroastrians. These Towers of Silence can be found in Mumbai. The dead bodies were arranged into a circle on top of the tower and are completely exposed to be eaten by carrion birds such as vultures. Many don’t know how or why this tradition started, but some believe it is a sort of purification for matter.
