back when there would be no more electricity when the virus was goin to wipe out the humans (no luck there again) with the tuppence i still had i bought the "learn how to your own PV) with about 1500 watts of panels (which sadly lie under a tree due to belgium and i only used two)
not like Li-on but they dont explode and you can hang them upside down the ceiling and they dont discharge more than like 1-3% over six months (or sometimes even 9 i seen once when i metered them), you're not supposed to but if it were a real crisis your lion batteries would be dead in your bunker by the time you get there if its been a few months
the steam deck is a nice example. You leave it for a month it discharges from 99 to under 80% from not being used, one of those solid AGM bats after 6-9 monts still gives the "full" on the voltmeter tho theres a small amount gone off ... i assume thats just how the universe does it but you could stack them and two years later find a bunker and they'd still be as good as fully functional
they were cheap too
and safe ofcourse compared to liquid or li-on
i read about the others there too but since i dont have money to buy itch games in my budget i'll have to forego on prepping for the apocalypse
the last plan was actually to get some STREX or something to knit to the arduino and connect it to home assistant to have a small robot wheel that closes the door when the cat comes in at night
atm it triggers a motion detector which turns off the space heater so it doesnt stand there gobbling power all night but my little friend doesnt close the door so i would have built a small one like that to close it after a minute and then turn the heater back on
not chinese propaganda robotics
but at least it DOES something (lol ?)
and we have to say "life wasnt always like THIS" and if only i been to school longer i would KNOW something but now i have no skills and thats why im stuck here ...
